Voschlag v. Ground Control Camber Plates

In order to better "centralize" the numouers camber plate threads and posts - I'm starting a Vorschlag v. GC thread to find out who purchased which and for what reasons (what did you perceive as the strengths/weaknesses of each - whether in terms of installation, ease of changing settings, reliability/maintenance, NVH, etc.).

They both seem like very good options - so I'd mainly like to know what made everyone choose the one that they chose...

Based on this video (
the guy who did the video also switched from GC to Vorschlag and has a full install video) and Bimmerworld's recommendation, I went with Vorschlag. Vorschlag was straightforward to install and does seem like a simpler piece of kit than the GC plates. Adjustment is also very straightforward.

That said, they've been on the car less than a week so I'll update my post if any more developments but I'm hoping none!

The bearing in the Vorschlag is supposed to be the beefiest, I have them, and had GC prior to that. Also, I found the GC annoying to adjust, as you had to flip bolts to access the highest degree of negative camber; as Farkle noted, the GC design seems overly complicated. And the new version of the Vorschlag plate allows for even more negative camber than the original design. I'd go Vorschlag 100% for anyone looking for their first set.

Thanks for highlighting my video pilotedecourse!

I've had multiple sets (3-4 of each) of both Vorshlag and GC (well sold most of the GC by now) for F8x. Vorshlag all day every day for the reasons in my video (robustness, simplicity, ease of use, greater model compatibility, and customer service).

Also, the aluminum brace doesn't interfere at all with getting the max adjustment on Vorshlag plates.

Here are some more videos (look at the video descriptions and jump to the informational parts like plate prep and installation).

For stock spring perch versions both Vorshlag and GC are 2-3mm thinner. You can see in the "stack height" sections of the Vorslag new version camber plate and GC install videos.

Seriously thank YOU - the install video was extremely helpful and I used it to install mine rather than send the car to the shop!

Farkles videos have saved me also. Used it for my suspension install, and brake fluid change.
