Whoosh / Hissing sound

I've been noticing a faint whoosh sound when applying the throttle starting at very light throttle inputs, Its consistent in all 3 engine settings (comfort, sport, sport +). It almost sounds like I have aftermarket intakes but I'm only running a stock airbox. Ive already checked the charge pipes and ring clamps and don't see any obvious defects. I dont remember hearing this whoosh until recently, 1 day after flashing the bm3 stage 1 map, Ive since flashed back to stock and the sound remains. I dont think theres any noticeable power loss. I've had active sound off for a while btw. Does this sound like the normal intake/turbo noise I'm hearing?

A video would help alot, BM3 will for sure raise boost(so intake noise as well) you may just be noticing it more now, especially if it holds boost with no issue WOT through the main powerband.

I've considered if what Im hearing is the turbos but the sound seems to start when there is only mild load on the throttle and RPMs < 2k. I'll try to post a video if I can capture the sound on my phone. I just don't remember hearing this sound for the first 24k miles that Ive put on the car.

It's 99% the charge pipes, its either one of them has a crack in it or they are loose.. Check for cracks and check the clamps if they are tight or not. If you checked the charge pipes and they seem fine, then it's just leaking air from one of the clamps.

There is a very light wooshing sound. Would that be a leaky charge pipe or boost leak? Check your charge pipes again by taking them off?

Turns out the sound was caused by a loose oil cap not sealing against valve cover, was replaced under warranty by dealership.

Thank you! When I drove off this morning I had a pretty loud wooshing noise coming from under the bonnet/car starting at around 2k revs - very noticable inside the cabin with windows open or closed.

I found this post and went off to check and the rubber hose had completely come away on the underside of the charge pipe (nearest the firewall) and where it meets the intercooler. I re-seated/re-clamped and everything seems fine now but have ordered another rubber hose anyway. Thanks again.

My car recently did something similar making a sudden whooshing/spooling sound. I have BM3 Stage 1, drop in BMC filters, and VRSF charge pipes. I did not hear any change in sound after installing the drop in filters as others have reported on the forum. But a few months later the car spontaneously started making a whooshing sound even though I have changed nothing else. I did a diagnostic run and sent it to BM3 and they said everything looked fine. I have checked the attachments of the charge pipes and everything is attached tightly. The car still runs fine, but I'd love to know what changed for peace of mind.
