So over the weekend I received my BMS Clutch Stop. I've heard nothing but good things about this product and it's ease of install. I simply removed the OEM clutch stop with my fingers but for the life of me , I couldn't install the part. Did any of you have trouble inserting the part in the clutch stop hole (insert joke)? The BMS Clutch stop seemed way too girthy and it wouldn't fit in the hole (insert joke).
It was my lowest mod install moment. I just felt like a moron. Something that seemed so easy, gave me such a hard time (insert joke) I bent it all up trying to insert it in the hole (insert joke) and I'm going to buy another part and try this again. One more time...with feeling https://burgertuning.com/products/bm...06-mini-cooper |

Out of the box fitment can be too tight (did a guy say that?). For our M2/3/4 trim as shown in the pic. Cut off the tip a few "branches" down the tree, then trim a few branches off so you can insert it easier. Then a gentle press of the clutch will seat it right. Use all 4 spacers (I took one off and still have a little gap).

OP I had this exact same problem and didn't make a post about it because I thought I was just an idiot. I pushed on the thing so hard that my thumbs were sore and it actually bent the plastic so much that it was too flimsy to go in. I ended up using a knife to trim down the plastic enough to get it to fit.

Hahaha!!! Watching these videos made it look so easy. I must've watched 3-4 other videos including TLG's and that's what made me go insane and the F bombs started dropping. The wife had to check on me a few times and make sure I was OK.

OP, I’ve definitely been there. Glad it worked out. I broke the electrical connector for the MAF sensor installing my BMC filters when the car had 1,000 miles. Had some choice words in the garage that day.
How do you like the clutch stop? I bought one but haven’t tried it yet.

I opted for this one because of the metal shims. Over 3000 sold. Install was a breeze.

It's definitely worth it, I think I took one spacer off so I'm running with 3. It seems small but it changes the feel of the clutch pretty dramatically. Clutch engages much quicker now.

Just installed it today and took the advice of topjimmy, worked like a charm and oh my what a difference! I left all the spacers in and like how it feels so far. Takes off the line much smoother and my 1-2 shift is butter! I find that when I drove it hard, I never had trouble with the 1-2 shift, it shifted nicely because the car is intended to be driven that way but when I wanted to take it easy, it was always difficult to get a smooth 1-2 shift. This simply gets rid of the jerky-ness. Best $10 mod! Hopefully this thread helps others who struggled to install the clutch stop like I did the 1st time.

Gotta love all the "easy install" posts we see on here for various mods e.g. "black out" grilles, clutch stop, etc. that in reality are a royal PITA. Glad to see some real life stories about the true difficulty factor.

I drilled the hole out slightly to get the BMS clutch stop to fit. This, combined with eliminating the clutch delay valve (swapped in an E90 slave cylinder) made the clutch feel, and work, much better.

I also had the same issue and ended up cutting up some of the 'branches' like the OP, then used the clutch pedal to seat it correctly. I'd imagine they are using the exact same plastic piece for lots of different cars! I'm glad it wasn't just me too, lol.
