Buying Advise: 2015 M3

Hey group,

I've been looking to get into an M3/M4 for some time now. There is an M3 located in Edmonton for about $38k with 70,000 kms, a mighty M6, and lowest trim option.

Reason why the price is low due to an accident claim for around $38,000. I know it's a BMW hence the estimate might be high. But what would you guys recommend? Wait a few more months for a better deal or pursue with this deal?

TIA

Common question with predictable answer. Vast majority would say keep looking.

Not a fan of a few things on that car. First the bumper needs to be fixed and repainted to remove the front plate mounting holes, so that’s $2k, then it would be nice to put some factory forged wheels on her, another $2k. Not sure what “aftermarket exhaust it has, probably just down pipes and a tune. And that would worry me the most. I would say you should see if they will do $34k out the door and then enjoy driving a stupid cheap f80, or you can shell out another $15k and buy that nice silverstone 6m that’s for sale in Edmonton, and have a clean example.

I will stay away from this car cause you have no idea who did the repair and how good their workmanship etc etc.

A typical 6mt 2015 m3 will be priced around 42k-45k at around 70k km (or even lower mileage). I was on the market for a dct m3 last year so my numbers here could be out dated.

If you are not in a rush buying f80 m3, I would suggest you to wait a little bit till 2nd quarter of this year cause many people are taking delivery of g80 m3 after April. Also many 2018 m3c lease ends this year.

Cheers

Good point !

I sent them a message aswell and was concerned about the quality of the work

36 is cheap but I think selling the car will be difficult

The same car popped up at gokia in Edmonton and they are now asking 40K. I asked the sales woman if they would be able to offer the same price when they had at toyotaonthetrail, which was 37K. She checked with her manager and he said that price is higher because it's spring and that people "drive their nice cars in spring/summer so it will sell at 40K".

Needless to say I passed on the vehicle. I'm in Ontario so I would have been purchasing the car unseen. reading this thread validated my decision!
