^^No info on when the car is going to be available to order so there is no way of knowing this. There are rumors on time lines but nothing concrete. Until we know more info there is no way anyone can accurately answer your question.

If I had to guess I would say depending on the dealer and the allocations yes there most likely could be a line at mid sept ED since that will still be the first few months based on rumors of ED orders starting.

Best advice I can give you is to get on a list now, put a deposit down, get a confirmation in writing locking in your spot then sit back and wait for more info to come out.

Subscribed...Hoping to hear soon from David or GOLFFRR that ED will not count towards their Allocation and that the new M4 will be discounted from the ED MRSP (Please help to keep me out of the New Vette!)

Are 4's coming out of dealer allocation for ED? Just curious how BMWNA is approaching the ED lately.

I say we each send an email to BMW NA European Delivery urging them to open allocation of cars outside of dealer quota for the greater good of community. I can share the email from last European Delivery contact if folks are interested in a flash mob approach

Many of us had a great dinner together the night before the F10 M5 launch at Brenner Grill. Even had an Audi ED guy there... Nice restaurant, central location, reasonable prices.

Also they brought the early morning cars up to the platforms the night before so some of the crew were able to go to the Welt on the 31st and look at their cars from afar before dinner.

I'm trying to resist the urge to do this again...

Did the F10 M5 launch consist of only Americans or was it a world wide crew?

Assuming the rumors regarding the timeline for the M4 are true, when is this first batch of ED's expected to occur?

The F10 M5 was available to other countries ahead of the USA - so the launch was just USA as it had already been for sale to others incl Canada. We did invite Dackelone and anyone at all to dinner. Dackel was there taking pictures the day of.

We had people from all over the country.

ED is definitely a great (only way) to buy a BMW if it is done right.

I guess I am not one of those people who catches the hype and put a deposit down on a car without seeing it & etc.

Just as I did before, I will wait and order the car once ED is NOT coming out of dealer allocation. (there is always some dealer in the middle of no where wanting to order a car for you)

My E92 335 was one of the 1st in the state and my M3 was the 1st ZCP delivered in WA. Both of them I paid close to ED invoice without any waiting list or a deposit.

My plan is to wait couple of months after the M4 is released, let all the initial excitement calm down and order the car then.

Let's start a poll - I'll guess the Saturday before Memorial Day.

Question... Is there a difference between putting your name on the "list" and placing a "pre-order"?

Not exactly sure. Have to check with David. It's prob. Not that bad at all. We require a deposit up front or you get off the list so there were a few on the list that didn't want to put a deposit down so the list recently shrunk a little
