I think those that are down on the official hp numbers are missing the point. This car is about the sum of the parts. We all know that the underrate their engines anyway, The fact is this car has better fuel economy, more torque, lighter weight, optimized body/weight distribution thanks to better materials and finally, much better multi-piston brakes.

With that said, gone are the naturally aspirated engines, as well as hydraulic assisted steering. We will just have to wait until the in person drive reviews come in to see if the new car is equal to or better than the previous generation.

So in summary you're saying the new f80/82 m3/m4 needs more hp and better designers.. Bit simplistic in your judgement no? Power to weight ratio and individual preference of aesthetics. 2nd part can't argue with but seriously not just about absolute hp, need to look at the bigger picture.

If true I will be stunned. Maybe the LED lighting package changes this but dam it should be standard. It's on other BMW cars and my Commuter 13 Nissan sentra! Come on BMW!

I agree with you but this is a poor solution. No one is going to drive with DSC/DTC disabled in wet weather/snow (unless you like to live dangerously), so that would mean no heel/toe shifting which ultimately means we can only heel/toe when the weather is nice? That's going to rub people the wrong way unless you could configure the settings which I doubt.

The M3 has definite hints of the 2007 Audi RS4 from certain angles with it's pumped fenders. A very good look indeed.

Bet the dash top is vinyl. My ML has a white-stitched vinyl dash you can't tell from leather. Much better material for sun exposure.

Tons o' torque! That 3.9 figure is most likely conservative. Wait until MT and C&D gets a hold of these beasts. I'm predicting mid 3's and 12 flat in the 1/4 pulling 1.1 g on the pad.

A while back I had predicted a 0-60 of 3.4. I still stand by this given the 3.9 is a very conservative number.

I see myself getting one of these in the 2nd year of production.
