As part of the program at M Driving school you do a training on a wet track similar to the video seen. A lot of fun!

Thanks for sharing the video OP!

I did a little drifting on the skidpad at VIR in the M. Two sessions there at the Advanced M School this past week.

So for those who have never attempted it, here was my take.

1) It's harder than it looks

2) It is a lot of work! After 10 minutes I was sweating like a madman. So were most of the other drivers after they got done with their session. You work that wheel back and forth alot!

3) I was doing it on wet asphalt which is easier than dry pavement and even that was hard

4) It takes time to get a feel for it and master it.

After two sessions I just started to get better and almost made a full drift lap around the circle. I think a couple more hours on it and I could probably do one or more laps consistently in both directions. Those hours would have to be split up with lots of breaks as I said it is a lot of work on the wheel. Maybe less work once you get in the groove and master it?

Once mastered on wet I'm sure it is another step up to get it down right on dry asphalt. Guys like Chris Harris make it look so easy. They hop into any car on any track and can drift any corner or angle!
