19" OEM wheels

Hey guys. Just asking to see if these tires can be plugged if I got a nail in the tire. Assuming the tire can be fixed like any other tire. Being told conflicting information about it.

Thanks!!

It depends on where in the tread the nail is.

Center of the tread is ok... on the edges not so much.

Pull the tire and patch from the inside

Agreed. I simple nail hole anywhere in the tread area can be plugged no problem. Never had to patch from the inside. I’ve plugged dozens of tires, standard and run-flat. It’s always been successful. Most tire shops will not plug. They want to sell tires.

Take the screw out and see if it leaks, or have you already determined it leaks with the soapy water?

If it leaks, put a plug in it.

As I said earlier, I would plug it from the inside. However, if you don't have a tire machine you'll have to find someone that will do the patch for you. That might not be as easy as it once was. Mark the tire where the valve stem is and you should be able to get away without having to rebalance the tire.

There will undoubtable be people that come in to say no way would they patch a tire... what's your life worth... and so on. I have never seen a plug blow out. I have seen a few leak after years of use. By design, the patch from the inside can not blow out.

Our cars have TPMS and were the repair start to leak you would get a message from TPMS.

Going to hold off taking the screw out for now. Need to get it to the dealer. I added rim/tire warranty when I purchased the car CPO in JAN of 2022.

For sure. In a perfect world, they replace both rear tires

I think most shops would decline to fix that because that is considered the "shoulder" of the tire. You can try to DIY but I'm 99% sure most shops would decline to fix it.
