Fitment questions specifically tires

Hi, I recently got an F82 M4 and am looking to change out the stock competition wheels for something aftermarket. I'm currently looking into some Vossen HF5 wheels in 20x9.5 ET 30 in the front and 20x10.5 or 20x11 ET 42 in the rear. I know I'll probably need to run spacers for a flush fitment, but what I'm concerned about are tire sizes. I'd like a slightly meatier setup than the current 265/30/20 and 285/30/20 that come with the stock wheels, but don't want to rub or just not have them fit at all. I have swift sport lowering springs on the car as well.

I'm currently looking at some Vercelli Strada II tires with 255/35/20 in the front and 275/35/20 in the rear. For people that are pretty knowledgeable about fitment on these cars, would that clear? Would those tires even fit on the wheels I mentioned, or would they be a bit stretched? Would you even recommend going for a 35 aspect ratio, or would staying close to the stock sizes be better? Thanks in advance!

No way that you will be able to fit that. A 35 ratio tire on a 20in wheel is basically an SUV tire. Typically a "meatier" setup would be a wider tire (i.e., 275 front 305 rear), not a taller tire. Im currently running 275/30r19 in the front (25.6in diameter), and I rub on full lock. 255/35r20 is a 27in diameter, you'll likely rub a ton of the time, any probably not even be able to turn due to the tire binding on the fender liner

Thanks for the info. Yea seems like I’d need to at least drop a wheel size in diameter to at least fit it. So a matter of 19s with 35 aspect ratio or 20s with 30…

Yes. Keep in mind that "35" is not representative of a universal tire sidewall height, but of a percentage of the tread width.
305/35 and 285/35 would have a difference in diameter of 20mm*35%*2 for ~14mm increase or ~.6 inches.

Currently I am running 275/30r19 and 305/30r19, no rubbing. Previously I ran 265/35r19 and 295/30r20, also with no rubbing. Tire and wheel fitment is pretty much a science, offset has a TON to do with how tires fit on these cars. Luckily you've got tons of threads on this forum (and apex has a great fitment guide), regarding all sorts of setups.
