Tire suggestions for 50/50 daily + tracking

Wondering what are choices people use nowadays for cars that see 5 to 10 track days a year + weekend driving ?

Currently have apex vs-5rs (19x9.5 + 19x11) wrapped with cup2s. My rears are stretched running a poor choice of 285,35,19 so I'm thinking on doing a 295,30 or dare to say a 305 Tyre.

Opinions? Options? T.I.A

Alternate opinion: I'd say 5-10 track days is definitely dedicated track wheel territory. Dual purpose tires are a compromise in a lot of ways - you end up with not quite the best road or track performance but something that's adequate at both. You'll end up with tires that don't last long for road mileage and get heat-cycled out very quickly due to the constant usage.

Having a dedicated track set will also allow you to run a square setup - these cars love 275+ square.

If you really want to run a dual purpose tire you could look at the usual suspects: Cup 2s or Supercar 3s.

I would recommend Sport Cup 2s. Just be careful in the rain.

I’m going to have a set of almost identical wheels for sale in a week if you want to buy a dedicated track set up.

Very true. My old track only EVO X had dedicated wheels as well. Good thing is I drive my car 2 times (maaaybe 3) a week. If that. So track rubber would be ok. I have cup2s right now so I'm leaning towards just replacing the rears since the fronts have a little bit of half life right now. Or wait til black friday and see if the SC3s are cheaper as a set. I'll go squared eventually lol

I might have a friend interested. The wheels in the pic are mine haha but when I'm going dedicated I'd be doing 18s squared. Thanks tho, I'll send him the thread information so he can hit you up
