I've started using the BMW UK free phone line (0800 325 600) for my intraday updates whilst build is in progress.

I’ve just called them up and I’m currently showing as “5290 Date Change” – - No idea what that means since the dates haven't changed (I'm still showing as BW 25 bizarrely) but given that it’s between “5280 Pre-Assembly Storage Start” and “5300 Pre-Assembly Start”, I'm hoping it’s a good thing.

Guys I really want to have the arm rest in the rear with the cup holders in. On the 2 and 4 series it comes with the 40:20:40 split option with 60:40 being standard without the arm rest. Just checked on uk configuration and it's not an option? Is it coming as standard or not possible.

The M4 has it's own bespoke rear seat design in a 60:40 config so I don't think it's going to be an option unfortunately.

No danger of that now - It's alive!!!!

Current status as of this morning = 5500 Assembly Complete!

In 24 hours I've gone from "5200 Paintshop start" to "5500 Assembly Complete"

Me neither about the excitement. Our cars will have a long overland journey from Regensburg to the port though.

Very true - M4's are now built back at Munich whilst M3's remain at Regensburg - http://www.bimmerfile.com/2014/02/27...ion-in-munich/

Similar distance though + I think both factories transport to port by rail - The race is on

Immediately after I placed the order in January, it was available on the BMW systems a day or so later.

As Tisme says, almost immediately however I'd wait until you go "1200 Scheduled for Production" for greater accuracy - That said, the system still bizarrely shows BW 25 (16th of June) despite the fact that my M4 has now been built.

Are you getting it direct from a BMW dealer?

It BMW dealers can get access to the status system.

Ask dealer to email you a screenshot off the BMW mainframe. Mine has done that once a week since my order was placed and more frequently with status changes.

I've been stuck at “5500 Assembly Complete” for over 24 hours now – You would think that as it rolls off the production line it would move straight on (as Tisme's M3 did) to:

6000 Transfer to Distribution
8200 Released to Carrier
9000 Departed Plant

I hope they are not going to hold the car in a compound at the factory until Production Week 25 (16th June) given that it was built 2 weeks early + the system still shows PW 25!

Doubt that mate, I would assume that as soon as there is transportation/enough cars it will move. Can't imagine they would want a stock pile of cars that end.

My car as of yesterday is now body shop complete so I'm only a couple of days behind you

My dealer here only has the SA3 tool and the updates are always 24hrs behind- I don't suppose if I PM you my Chassis no you would be able to get your dealer to run a quick check on his system for me?!?!

Thanks ss134 and congrat's on your progress - Not long now!

I've been using the BMW UK free phone line (0800 325 600) for my intraday updates - They have access to the BMW Mainframe, you just need to give them your “Dlr Order” number (although I assume a chassis no. would also do the trick).

I wonder if there is a bottleneck at the factory with getting all the cars shipped out for M4 JTD's
