I seriously doubt this to be true. It would not make sense to have two different spec S55 engine heads. IMO, the power bump is a result of revised software, period.

I'd love to know more about the new "sports exhaust".
And of course how the sound differs from the current.

Seems like both of the reviews are plagued with inaccuracies. "thanks to a minor redesign of the cylinder head" I'd be very surprised if this was true. However, they both liked it in the end. If I were getting an M4 today, I'd definitely get it, unless I got a stripper. I also wonder how much of it can be retrofit, and if it would make sense cost wise.

No sense at all. Unit cost + Labor cost to retrofit + waste of what you already paid for make it a sure no go. Then add re-coding of the car to accept many of the parts and it's much better to wait until it's time to trade up

Curious as well what this sports exhaust is? Maybe they are just getting confused with the black tips and new valve adjustment for MY16 cars ??
Is it possible to order without the 666 wheels and get a credit? |

This, I would seriously doubt. Right now, it seems that it is not even possible to substitute the wheels at no cost.

Don't you guys think the positive reviews are kinda predictable anyway? I mean with all the new suspension parts they put on, of course it should handle better right? it's kinda a given.

I want the Competition package but 20 inch rims (despite that hey have grown on me) with low profile tires are a no go for far to many reasons.
Why won't BMW offer the 19 inch 437s as a no cost option especially for those that need a bit more side wall when they hit bad pavement. |

If you're leasing, you can buy a set of 19's and sell them at the end of the lease for a slight loss. It will probably end up costing you a couple of hundred dollars at the very most to use them for three years.

Per Autoexpress and Autocar - it seems that they both agree that the car feels more "raw" in terms of handling and ride - I cannot wait to go for a test drive and drive my "civic" M3 to and from the dealership before and after...
What would also be great is if BMW NA does the M Performance tour that hits the major US cities just like last year (with the M3/M4/M235i) but instead this year does the (M3CP/M4CP/M2)... I have a feeling a lot of people will sign up for that (especially since the all-day event was $750 - I'd do that again in a second - especially if it is the updated lineup! |

I have the strong suspicion that BMW 666 wheels are going to hit the dust bin of history pretty quickly.
If they truly added 19bhp, new sways and springs, wider rubber, and a sportier exhaust as well as revised steering and DSC...that's not bad for ~$4k. That's not even M tax |
