Any regrets on not getting Adaptive Suspension?

Hey

Currently have my eye on a used M3. I have seen quite a few used M3 but most of them are ordered without Adaptive Suspension. I thought it was a nice to have feature.

For those who do not have it, how is the comfort level for daily driving? For those who do, do you use it quite often?

My F36 Xdrive has adaptive and there is certainly a big difference between comfort and sport mode.

Thanks.

I change mine quite often. My one M button has comfort and the other has Sport +. Love the adjustability!

I have adaptive. Comfort mode is cushy but controlled. what's nice is its still adjusting every ~ 2.5 milliseconds while in any mode. I am a Bilstien man but hey for me adaptive was such a no brainer cost wise.

I bought my car new off the lot, and the one thing it doesn't have that I kind of wanted was the adaptive suspension. The ride is a bit firmer than I expected (in a good way), but is fine for me for daily driving. I plan on going with aftermarket suspension anyway, and not having the adaptive is leaning me toward going full coilover. The only thing that bugs me is the blank space where the button should be, reminding me that I don't have it. I say if you don't plan on messing with the suspension, hold out for the adaptive. For the $1000, I think it's a good value.

Agreed, $1000 Good value. I have it. I don't use it much. I leave it in sport most the time but it's
nice to change it sometimes. I don't regret adding it on my build.

If you're looking at used M3's without adaptive, go with one with the 18" wheels. Ride will be better.

I have passive suspension and 19" wheels. No problems or complaints about the ride after 18 months.

Thanks. I'll see if the dealer is willing to negotiate price on it a bit more. Otherwise I'll wait for another one.

I change mine quite a bit, I wouldn't want it any other way. For a grand it's a no brainer.

i always use my adaptive, in comfort mode, unless tracking or spirited driving. I think it was worth the 1K, I enjoy the softer ride. It is not a huge difference, but you can definitely tell there is a difference. You have to look at resale value also, unless your leasing.

Didn't get adaptive suspension on my M4. I had it on a '12 M6 Convertible and '14 M6 Gran Coupe and never used them. I didn't even push that button even once. So, when I got the M4, didn't mind not having it. The $1k+ went to a rear spoiler, black grilles, paint protection film, tints, etc. Not concerned about resale because I just trade in my car every 2 years or so.

It also depends on where you live. If you have very good, smooth roads, then you can get away with passive suspension. For me, living in SF with three-dimensional roads (and I don't mean the hills), adaptive suspension is a MUST. Unless I drive outside of the area or at the track, my car lives on the soft setting.

Don't regret it one bit. I use comfort all the time when driving the family around or on rough roads. Haven't used sport+ yet.

Don't have it, driven both. Don't regret it. It's something nice to have for the price, but it's not a deal breaker for me

Classic BMW justification syndrome, I'll feel better about it if I tell you I was right with my choice.

I don't have it and I have no regrets. I also have the 19" wheels and have no issues on my F80 with it being too "rough" driving it daily or being too cushy or floaty thru corners. Feels solid and planted to me..but then again I've always loved stiffer suspensions so it might not be good to take my opinion lol.

Call me crazy but on my e90 I put it in sport setting for rough roads- soft setting feels unstable- sport damps the bumps much more effectively.

I got it, and I really enjoy it, my M1 button is in the comfort setting while the M2 is in Sport... Now the Sport + is something else, it loves the twisted roads :-)

Question, do you see any price difference between a used M3/4 with or without?

Nope, none. I'd go passive again for sure. Perfect sporty feel and solid handling. Wouldn't want it any softer and I prefer the feel of a good passive suspension over any adaptive I've tried by a margin.

That makes absolutely no sense.
