Will you get/trade a G82 M4 CSL?

Curious to see what the current M4 GTS owners think.

Edit: the title should be get/trade for* .

Absolutely not. I know it's been said a million times, but I simply can't get past the design of the G8X. I don't care how great it drives, or how good the engine is, if I'm not in love with the design, I'm not interested in the car.

Besides, the GTS is a special car. I'm planning to keep mine for a very long time. My plan is to add either a G87cs (or perhaps a gently used F87cs) or an F90cs as a daily driver some time in the near future.

I sold my GTS, but decided to answer anyway.

It would be a hard pass for any G8x for me because of Mr. Dukec's butchery, but for sale of argument, let's say the G8x was gorgeous…i would def consider it.

Besides looks, the base G seems like a compelling package, and honestly everything reviewers don't like about its dynamics already exist on the F8x as well. So I'm pretty sure the "CSL" will be a step above the GTS

I highly doubt I’ll be selling my GTS any time soon either.

I’m quite content with her and it’s fun to tweak it here and there. Seeing other GTS builds has me making a list of what to do over the next few months/years.

There have been spy shots of a CS (if you look closely, you can even see the tape covering the letters 'CS' on the grille of the spy photos), but haven't seen anything regarding a CSL other than rumors.

The problem is that the G82 is too heavy and also too ugly. They could give it 800hp and that wouldn't change those 2 problems.

Now, if they found a way to shave 200-300 pounds from the G82 and fixed the front bumper, I might consider it. But it would have to be real weight savings and not the "savings" found on the M4 GTS, which were effectively net zero vs. a base M4 rather than the claimed 200 lbs.

I love my i3, I love my M4, and I love my M235iR. I dislike the new design language they're applying across the brand to the point where I think I'm done with the brand for now. Maybe they'll figure their shit out or maybe my eyesight will get bad enough that I'll come back around.

Agreed with being done with BMW cars for a while.

The motorcycles on the other hand… BMW Motorrad have been operating on a all-around high level (design/engineering/performance) and are actually getting better with time. I simply cannot overstate how confusing it is that this is happening at the same company where the cars have taken such a bizarre turn :

I voted yes. I think a CSL would complement the GTS nicely.

Voted No, as I cannot adapt to the new styling. I’d grab an M2 though

I have a serious problem selling cars, so I can't see myself selling either GTS to get the G8X CSL/GTS. But adding one? Why not!
