2020 F82 - Alpine White - 3 week progress
Jan 4, 2022 I dropped off my 2020 FBO GTR and picked up my new (to me) 2020 alpine white f82 M4 from Carmax. It had 6k miles and was so stock it didn't even have window tint! The last few weeks I've done quite a few mods and wanted to share my progress.
I started with the aesthetics and now am planning to move on to performance. The former is going awesome, despite cracking my splitter in-half over an unexpected dip in the road, but I was able to Harry Potter it back together (hence the yellow duck tape and forged carbon wrap). Lol. The later journey is off to a rough start after learning I have to "bench unlock" my ecu in order to become eligible for bootmod3… and my car might not even be eligible for that? I still have more to learn. Anyhow, on a positive note, I really like the car—it's more fun to drive than my 700hp, flame shooting GTR! Here are some of the aesthetic mods I've done so far: 1. Black M style front splitter (Ninte) 2. M performance carbon ext side skirts 3. M performance carbon diffuser 4. Carbon side markers, grill inserts & mirror covers 5. EMD springs 6. BBS CI-R wheels (19s) and Hankook RS4 tires 7. APR GTC300 67" wing - f80 spec (I wanted the big one) 8. Some universal canards off Amazon $5k wheels, $2k wing, and $24 canards lmao . Excited to join the M community |

It was my dream car—bought it new and put a ton of money into building it. Absolutely loved it, but after a while I got kind of bored. Ya it was the fastest car on the road 99% of the time, the AWD would break your neck from a stop, and it sounded amazing, but it was kind of a 1 trick pony. For the price of mine ($120k), I just didn't get enough excitement out of it anymore (put 20k miles on it), and I didn't like the constant attention — every stoplight or gas station I would get harassed. So, decided to build something new that's a little more versatile, affordable, and driver focused! I bought it, built it, and enjoyed it, so I'm good. If I could go back I would build an older one — like 2013-15 and also own an M or rwd car, and I probably would have never sold it.
