F82 Backup Camera stops working randomly

So I am getting an annoying issue where my backup camera stops working mid backing up. The screen just turns black, parking sensors still working, but just no camera. The only way for me to fix this is to uncheck rear camera and recheck or go from Reverse to Drive and then back to Reverse. When this happens there is no error messages. Not even camera malfunction.

I brought this into the dealership a few months ago and they replaced the camera once and did a software update to the car however its been a few months and this issue is coming back.

I also checked BMW updates and my car has no updates.

Anyone else running into this issue and what was your resolution?

I think there is a recall for this. It's software related. I have this issue also. I can never replicate it in front of the dealership.

Unfortunately, our cars are not part of that recall. Do you have any custom code on the car?

To fix an issue like this you may need to have your idrive reflashed/ updated. This solved my issue.

Nope. I never got it fixed as BMW doesn’t seem to be able to track it down. It still happens and the way I get around it is to turn off and on the parking sensors.

I've got this exact issue described in here in my 2015 428i Grancoupe, anyone have any idea how to fix it?

Also have another issue where my iDrive knob doesn't register any rotating functionality but still works when pressing it or any other buttons.

Thought it was a battery issue originally and got my battery replaced to a brand new one but the issues still remain.

FWIW I still have this issue to this day. Not sure about your iDrive knob though, maybe it's worn out.

I ended up fixing this issue along with the rotating function on my iDrive knob. Personally, it turned out to be a loose connection on my actual screen. I do have an aftermarket screen which has Android built in for Apple CarPlay + retains the original functionality of the iDrive system, I took it all apart and put it back together much tighter and it seems to have zero issues now. Was also experiencing issues where my audio would cut off everyone now again which I haven't had for the past week or so since I have put it back together, overall just seemed to be a loose connection.
