OP suggested $60k as price for used 15-16 M3. Carmax in Winston Salem NC has my old one. It's a '16 with a bit over 30K miles, nicely equipped. It's a good solid car. I sold it because I won a C8 & already have an e36 M3/4/5 and a fancy truck. Carmax wants $51998. It's worth looking at.

Wait a second… you "won a C8"? Explain. Asking for myself.

It's a never-ending cycle. Someone can easily say to a Porsche owner, if you have a passion for cars, McLaren, Ferrari, or Lambo is the way to go.

Not really though. A gt2rs or 918 spyder will still bury most supercar brands on a track.

Shit, a 911 turbo s as well

Not always. If hard parking is your thing, then yes. If you track, then no.

I sense sarcasm here. Lol. I'm pretty sure that's a typo and you meant "own", correct?

Not a typo. I won it. The M3 I sold to carmax is now down to $50K. They're not making much money on it.

I win cars. I won a 2012 Range Rover HSE in a 2012 sweepstakes. Won a 2015 M235i in BMWCCA Foundation raffle. I took cash alternative for this one & put that money with my money to get my '16 M3. I won the Corvette in a Church raffle.

So did you rotate the horse shoe in, or just plunge it in blunt first?

No horseshoe, just a small rabbit's foot. Less painful.

I would go with the 6 year newer, with warranty, and still very quick 340….

But neither car is going to "feel" like your 2011 unfortunately.

Drive both. They drive completely differently even if the performance may be similar-ish
This. A million times this. Each successive model in the hierarchy adds something from the original model, in this case 328/330 you step "up" to the 335/340. The difference is felt most in these two as the inline 6 is smoother and more refined than the 4 in the basic model. Why BMW decided to start slapping "M" on half baked models is beyond me as every bona fide M I have driven is NOTHING like the basic or step up models. That being said if I was looking for a cushy drive with more HP (and that's about it) I'd get an "M"340i. I do not tune, or track my cars or get into racing/autocross but wanted the M4 because I love the look/feel and sound of it.

There is also the option of getting a CPO car and/or purchasing an extended warranty if you go the F8X route.

Earlier this year I took my BMW M240i in for service. Love the car, but was always left 'wanting more.'

They gave me an m340i as a loaner and I actually enjoyed the car quite a bit. I figured before pulling the trigger on upgrading to it, let me try an f80 and see how different they are.

Completely different. M340i handling is poop compared the f80. I decided to get the f80.

I also daily a mk7 GTI so these BMWs are just my weekend cars.

Nice combo…

I had an MK7 GTI before my M3. I'd like to get another as a daily
