New M4 winters speed rating
Just picked up my m4 comp last week and looking to put winters on a 437m set I got from my buddy.
Looking thru tire rack, the only option for 255/35/19 and 275/35/19 are the Pirelli sottozero 3. The only issues is the speed rating, 255 is 96h and the 275 is 96v. Does that matter or should I look at different sizing |

I'm curious about this as well. What doesn't make sense about it is that the tire tread should be the exact same and the size difference really isn't that large. So I'm wondering if Tire Rack just got one of the speed ratings incorrect on the site. Regardless, 149mph speed is beyond plenty and I imagine that so long as the tread is the same (or very similar), having two different speed ratings shouldn't be an issue. But I'm definitely no expert here.
With that said, my local tire shop can get the Michelin Alpin PA4's in the 275/35 and 255/35 sizing and the speed rating is the same. Most seem to agree that the Alpin 5's are better in the snow, as well as dry, than the Sottozero 3's. But I'm not sure about the PA4's, in comparison. Researching now.
