no drop + spacers + 18's?
i was talking to a bmw m technical advisor today ( whatever that means?) but he seemed knowledgable.
he recommended 10mm all around spacers, no drop- any shots of what this looks like? |

No imagination required on how this will look. It will look like all 4 wheels still recessed within the wheel well, albeit less than stock but still recessed.
Flush is 15mm in the front and 12mm in the rear. Go bigger and wheels will "poke" out beyond the wheel well.

I think 10mm will look just right with OEM height. Keep in mind that people running 15mm (front) 12mm (rear) most likely have their cars lowered. This matters because the negative camber that the drop makes actually tuck the wheels in a bit more. Also, having the tire closer to the fender makes a big visual difference on how much the wheel/tire seems to poke out.
Just do a search and you'll find a lot of threads showing different spacer sizes with different suspension set ups, including OEM. |

One other note that might be worth considering is that the 18" wheel design does look more "go-cart-like" than the 19" wheels. If the 18"s stick out too far, it might look like a caricature. I say try it! It's not too expensive of a mod. Be sure to post pics! |

I have tried every option between 10, 12, 15, 18 and concluded that 10 mm spacers get the stock 18" tire in the front perfectly flush, while in the rear I'd recommend 12 mm.

I’d go no thicker than 12 mm on the 513M. It’ll be aggressive enough with no poke. Lowering the car doesn’t add additional camber on the front due to it being a strut design. Struts have a poor camber curve with suspension deflection. Camber plates are needed if you want to add negative camber to the front.
