down grade 666 to ???

Hey guys my wife recently bought a 2020 m4 comp with the 20 inch rims and PSS rubber.. Next month the car gets parked for the winter and iam getting rid of the 20s and want to go to a smaller 18 inch square set up... Can you let me know a rim that will look like the bmw 666 and fit with no issues?? High gloss black is what iam looking for.

There are the 788Ms that came on the BMW M2 Comp but those are 19s. I don't know of any OEM wheel that has a similar style and size in 18s. Aftermarket is your best bet but I'm no wheel expert.

You can run AS tires that will fit fine.

TireRack I would recommend

IMO, the BMW oem 513M wheel is probably the best looking 18” wheel design released on any M3 generation. Doesn’t look like the 666M but it is forged and lightweight. For winter I’d recommend 245/40 F and 265/40 R ( or run 255/40 square). You want to run narrower tires in the winter so you can drive on, rather than plow thru, snow.

I believe VMR makes a replica cast wheel that looks very similar to the 666M. Not sure of diameters, widths and et offered.

Edit: it’s the VMR V801 wheel (appears to be flow formed instead of cast) that looks similar to a 666M. Offer good widths, but higher ets, for a dedicated winter setup. You’d run their 18x8.5et35 F and 18x9.5et35 R. Would require the use of spacers - 10-15 mm F, 5-10 mm R, or even thicker depending on the stance you like. Winter setups should be function over form.

+1 on the 513M. Looks good.

Save yourself a lifetime cleaning them too.

BMW 640M 18” 255/40 square setup. Similiar to 513M but silver. I believe this is OEM BMW winter setup from the dealer.

Downgrade? You’ll only be upgrading from 666s.

Yes, the 640M is the BMW oem winter wheel for the F8x (I wonder if it’s also for the f87?).

Alpine looks like a bright white…until you see it up against snow! I had a Grand Prix White on an s2000 - that’s definitely a bright white.

It is, yes.

There was also the 641M wheel for CCB-equipped cars.

Both winter wheels look great, a bit of a shame they're not forged, though.

Just FYI, the alloy wheels are staggered - the tyres are a square setup.

Could be running four rear wheels?

Wasn’t aware of the 641M but makes sense because 18” doesn’t clear front CCBs. Thanks.

Edit: looked the 640M wheel up online. From BMW you get: Front 18x8.5et27 wheel with Continental Winter Contact TS830P BMW* Winter 255/40-18 tire + Rear 18x9et29 wheel with Continental Winter Contact TS830P BMW* Winter 255/40-18 tire. BMW recommends a square winter * spec tires.
