Well, I'm thinking about a 2016/17 M3. Maybe wait for the mid life refresh and then pull the trigger. I will not pay for an individual colour. I do like my bimmers in blue! However, YMB is a bit too light for my taste - currently have a 335 ix in EB2. Hopefully, by the time I am ready, there will be a darker blue available. Otherwise, probably go for the silverstone. I agree with the Bentley comment - M cars are about performance - not luxury!

I thought Mineral White was already shown as a standard color
certain colors I might pay $2000 for (san marino, maybe tanzanite), but I would be really pissed if it became a standard M3/M4 color down the road |

I guess BMW wants to charge its cars up to the Porsche's level.... step by step people will start comparing these brands as equals.... dangerous but fruitful road if it picks up...

Definitely not feeling the "individual" paint considering the lack of options. I am planning on the ///M3-4 because it's supposed to be a great overall vehicle. However it's not set in stone I'll get one. Kinda rubs me the wrong way with this tactic. But if people will pay, they will keep looking to make as much as they can. Which, after all, is the point of selling cars.
I for one will absolutely not pony up 2k for paint. Good thing I prefer white. |

So this is going to be a 80-90k dollar car? base of 65k? 15k options + tax and dealer mark up?

Amaro brown goes with either YMB or AY... we may have a winner.

Standard paint lineup is not very sufficient and mw is not even an individual color in my opinion. Though azurite black is looking great on this car it still needs some more shades of blue and especially green. Wood and aluminium kill the car. Wood kills sportiness and aluminium is just looking cheap. And BMW is acting stupidly daring to call beige interior and white paint as individual. Just killing its value in my eye...

The one fact I have seen is that those who have owned an M in the past or like sports cars that switched to a 550i or F30 are regretting the decision and have contemplated, are contemplating or have switched back to some form of an M. The experience in the S65 equipped car is very connecting and is sorely missed once gone. I know the S55 is fast but will it deliver that connection remains to be seen. No matter what kind of analyses you apply to the new car decision most of the people here end back up in a BMW.
I like azurite black and space gray but Singapore grey is pretty awesome. I think VO would look really good in this application. I remember a few years BMW of Fairfax was offering a special to repaint your car in any color they could get a hold of for 2K - should of jumped on it. Well what other manufacturers provide better products in this particular segment? I am sorry but Audi's suck. They are bland and so easy to drive. They don't provide any tailored options. I checked out both an RS6/RS7 feels and smells just like an A4 with quilted seats. Maybe Porsche or Merc but then it just depends on what you are after. If you hate the F8X just keep your current M3 and get something else. Merc may be too soft and the GT-R too harsh or not lux enough. Porsche drives on rails and has a sweet manual but doesn't have the room or lux for the price. I was surprised with the top end the new 335i has. It seems to have somewhat lost the bottom end and doesn't have the mid range power the N/S63 have. I rather have an F80 with a CFRP roof than LED tail lamps or no hood line. I wish I would have kept my E46M but I am keeping my E92M and getting the M4. Hopefully BMW expands the available color palette but don't trade your E9XM if you are going to be stretching financially to get the F8X. The S65 in money in its own right. |

Dealers in the states are having this trend to add cca.$10k on new M cars though. So, 70-ish?!.....that kind of money in the states gets you what, like loaded C7 Corvette? One more thing, it is those hard core loyal M guys who go to the dealers and preorder the car, and they slap them with a "tax for loyalty"?!?!?! That's a bad practice BMW, BAD!!! |

The only real worthy Individual-Option for an M3/M4 would be:
... would be nice to see, how often this option would be choosen |

Personally I Azurite Black is the best shade of black I've seen in a car.
In snow conditions and shadow is black, direct sunlight is blue pigments when it come to stand amazed. M3 and M4 in the course that gives a touch more luxury. Do not forget that the list is different colors depending on the country of North America or Europe there will be more options in places where demand is greater. Actually we will have to wait to BMW reveals details of the individual colors. And what is fact that will be selective. We could list many names that would not reach to bring them all in one day. I must say one thing BMW 3-Series option exterior finish black , white, grey manipulated and controlled dealers make money not to worry so much about the individual program as it depends who is willing to pay that extra money and those who accessing this program will have exclusivity. I think Tanzanite Blue could be included, because it is offer in Europe for the 3-Series. |
