Just got back from a long highway drive. The only time my car pulls is if there is a strong cross-wind. Otherwise, you can practically take your hands off the wheel and go for a nap. I'm on 19's though. Someone should do a poll to see if it is 18 problem (tires or alignment).

Well, if you don't mind paying for a defective car then more power to you.

anyone else have an issue with their car pulling to the right? If there's enough people perhaps we can get BMW NA to take a look at finding a solution. It is a bit tiresome constantly having to make small steering adjustments

BMW will pay for an alignment or balance up to 2,000 miles

I can easily count over 10 enthusiast is having this issue here including myself and we are only the minority of the new M car. I agree that it does get annoying constantly correcting the steering but at the same time it's not overly bothersome. I'm still waiting for a chance to get off work early one of these days and take it in.

Have you contacted your dealer yet?

It certainly isn't overly bothersome but when I drive a car like my RS5 that has no sideways sway whatsoever it's pretty clear that the M4 does suffer from it. I'm thinking if it's just a software issue BMW might be able to do it.

I'm only at 500 miles so I'll bring it up when I go in for the 1200 mi service, but I don't really want to be trying to fix this at the dealer level b/c I'm also positive they'll try throwing a bunch of different solutions at it none of which will fix the root cause of it.

I did include a link to this thread in the survey BMW sent me (and I spoke to someone at BMW Corporate about it as well) but with these sort of things the more people that bring up the issue the more prioritized it gets.

Yeah, I have the same exact thoughts perhaps it's a software issue and not an alignment problem then that would be an easy fix. What did the corporate said?

They said they made a note of it. And to include the issue in the survey and if I can't get it resolved at the dealer then they'll have note of it. The call wasn't specific to this issue, it was a general chat with someone from corporate checking-in on me, so not really the right person to make things happen.

I also wrote in the survey that the auto A/C default on is highly annoying lol.

Mine goes like a train, but then braking, it really tries to take a sharp left. Every time, and I don't do nice and slow stops if I can help it. 10 000km in and I've learned to not to keep drinking coffee while finally acknowledging the red light.

Also, I've never driven in any other mode than sports plus on everything, Peter thinks I'm a wuss so because the TC stayed on for so long, so now I better play along with him.

Yes, I picture him having feelings too. I need therapy.

Frank conversation with the dealership today. I'm going to swap front tires to see if it matters. They understood - through the input on this list - that it could be a larger problem. I THINK they're going to reverse the charge on the alignment, because it showed on the machine to be perfectly within factory specs.

That would be awesome! Made absolutely no sense to charge you for a brand new car. Please let us know the outcome

Ding ding ding ding! FIXED!!

My car would be in a ditch within 5 seconds before this fix. These cars are so high-tech that it never occurred to me (or the dealer) to try a decades-old technique as simple as this one. Thank you, Milban. I test drove the car after the swap and took both hands off the wheel, and BAM! It tracks true. I'm SO HAPPY that this didn't turn into one of those "re-flash the steering software" things that others have reported with e-steering on other makes.

While I was in there, I noticed that the cooling vents on the new M direct the cooling air to swirl through the wheel well. All earlier M's just dumped a blob of air near the dust covers. I'd be interested to find out whether this is to improve cooling, or reduce drag, or reduce debris getting behind those dust shields. BTW the shields are farther from the disks than earlier M's, and irregularly shaped, so much less prone to trapping stones and twigs that make awful screeching noises.

So swapped left to right? Am guessing then that the tires are not directional? Great news that you got the problem solved.

On another note, the second picture just reminded me that i will need to paint the center of the hub as soon as I get the car Did the same on my E90 as it tends to rust and if you run Volk TE37 SL's, it shows

I have experienced radial pull on several vehicles with non-directional tires. This should really be a standard practice since it's SO FAST to do compared to a proper alignment, etc.

I am riding on 18s, 650ish miles, and mine tracks incredibly straight and true. Really quite impressively so given the width of the front tires.
