A diffuser and PPF so $4K thus far. Including the 1,000s of micro fiber cloths and washing supplies, $4,500.

I stay away from the tuning section of the forum like it’s a hot third cousin. Apologies for the analogy, kids had me watching Daddy’s Home 2 today...

Just curious how much money all of y'all have spent on mods for your F8X so far? I was thinking about it this week and holy-shire I've spent more than I thought.

Wheels and tires - $24,000
Suspension - $8,800
Exterior - $8,900
Interior - $4,000
Drivetrain+Tune - $3,000
Exhaust - $3,500

This isn't a brag or humble-brag post — I just didn't start out thinking I'd spend so much. Commiserate with me Bpost. What's your damage?
Yowza! You didn't hold back one bit. Nice.

I'm about $3k in with parts and labor. Lip spoiler, mid pipe, reflectors and a bunch of interior alcantara OEM bits.

It's probably a low estimate. I was too afraid to look up the actual costs. Haha. I'm on my 6th set of forged wheels and 7th or 8th set of tires just for this car. For what it's worth, I have sold half of the sets.

- BC Forged RZ05

- Signature Wheel SV104

- Advan GT Premium

- Some Crappy Wheels That Shall Remain Nameless

- BC Forged MLE52

- Signature Wheel SV601

And I forgot to add various studs/nut kits. That's an extra $900. Fack.

it does hurt to add up...

half year of ownership and so far @ 15K mark, ppf full front, all major cosmetics are done and exhaust is done for now...nothing in the performance section

long term goal to be fairly retained on performance, crank hub+intercooler and top cooler and charge pipe will go once warranty is gone and my plan is just a simple stage 2, around 500-550 is good enough for me. GAWD it hurts to think about this goal...

wondering how much is too much...

Y'all wild af!

Half the joy of the modifications I've done so far is the fact I scored them cheaply on eBay Kleinanzeigen or other local classifieds. They're all either slightly used or brand new genuine BMW bits, mostly for half the retail price.

M Performance V1 steering wheel
M Performance 6MT knob w/ boot
M Performance handbrake
M Performance pedals
M Performance rear spoiler F30 non-CF version painted in gloss black
M Performance kidneys
Aluminum Blade trim
Ferodo DS pads (more of a safety track item than mod)
M4 GTS coding

The front kidneys, well, I bought new OE black F32 surrounds and swapped the slats. Why pay extra for the M3 kit? More money for premium fuel and Tinder subscription.

maybe a couple thousand all together. i always keep tabs on spending though. i've seen people get crazy and get stuck with a car because they have too much into it. rather just upgrade to a better car.

Over 20k easy because I like swapping out my exhaust x2 , suspension x3, wheels and tires x4, over and over, for no apparent reason, besides me being OCD and achieving what I want or because I'm a full retard.

The below is the majority of my spending I'd say:

Dinan Axle back to Single AA to Dinan Axle back / AA EL
BBS LMR to TE37SL to BBS LMR DBK in F8X Fitment and then two more sets of BBS CHR / BBS Silver LMR
Swift springs / Bilstein PSS10 / KW CS 3 way
Front lip x 2 , side skirts, rear diffuser x 2, rear spoiler

Ended up buying an STi half a year ago instead of buying mods and may trade that in for a E9xM instead of buy more redundant F8X parts to swap out.

But hey.. we are OG F8X owners now so it only makes sense across 5+ years of ownership that we'd have spent a pretty dime.

This like an anonymous club. Mods add up, then do an engine / turbo build, and this shit gets crazy expensive!

These are rough costs w/ shipping and installation charges
  • PPF/window tint: $2,000
  • KW HAS + spacers: $1,000
  • BMW M-perf rear spoiler: $500
  • Bilstein coilovers + ceramic brake pads: $2,500
  • Musicar full stereo upgrade w/sub: $5,000
  • BPM Tune: $1,000
  • BMS Can flap: $280
  • Remus Exhaust: $4,000
  • Replacement PS4S tires (6): $2,000
  • BC Forge MLE81 rims/tires: $5,800
  • M4 M-perf side blades: $320
  • Lightweight front lip: $560
  • Crankhub fix, intakes, charge pipes, charge cooler NGK plugs: $6,000
  • Total: $30,960

Wow! Never did the math before. I've owned the car for 6 yrs now and I spent about $12K in the past 6 months alone for the rims/tires and crankhub fix, intakes, etc. because I plan on keeping this car for the long haul.
