Should I trade in my 2018 M3 for a 2013 911 4S?

Hi all, first off hope this is the right place to post this if not please move this as appropriate. Will make this short as I can.

Background: been dreaming about f80 since high school. Graduated college in 2017 and been working for 2 years. Finally pulled the trigger on a brand new 2018 f80 AW/SO with Zec back in September. Love this car and I'm really attached to it. Just got done putting brand new MPE 3K miles ago and have some other cosmetic mods on it. I've had it for about 9 months and have 13K miles on the odometer. Car is valued 56-60k.

Today: my dad got one of those scratch off marketing cards from a dealer and he went to claim his gift card and then it happened. He sent a pic of a black 2013 Porsche carrera 4s only 22K miles and price of 69K. I went to see it and dealer offered to buy my M3 back at 56K and they will match my current finance payment for the M3. They would handle all fees and I would just need to cover tax, which can be rolled in to payment. Would be looking at a payment of $1350 which is about $50 more than I pay now. Could be a bit less depending on what rates I get if they run my credit. This 4S is insaneeeeee. Absolutely beautiful and let me not get started on how thick the back is!! I'm just a bit weary because it's had 4 owners and 3rd had it for 28 days and 4th for 8 months. Seems like a red flag despite a clean Carfax right???? And my f80 still has warranty for 3 years/23K. Also trading my 2018 for a 2013, but like PORSCHE Carrera 4S!!! this would be my daily and idc about losing the back seats, I'm very young and single/no kids so no issues there. Just looking for some tips/suggestions if this is a rational switch. Any help is appreciated I'm just so confused right now and don't want to make a mistake I'll end up regretting (especially if the car turns out to have problems).

Can you afford the repairs if something breaks? If so then yeah. Would have got a 991.1 instead of F80 if I didn't have a kid

Don't do Porsche that are out of warranty. If you can buy CPO Porsche, do that instead. Repairs on Porsche cars are completely insane out of warranty.

With regards to people always wanting Porsche, even as a car lover I don't see all the attraction still. I don't hate my Macan S, but I would not go out of my way to get another Porsche unless it is worth doing. BMW M, Benz AMG, Audi RS all sit at a good in between for car lovers like us. I will also continue to say about my hatred for Porsche PCM. Always half working, half not working it completely a giant ass headache.

There are more to cars than just getting them. You are still young (and I'm barely beyond 30 myself) but never forget the "Repair" Cost people seem to forget. Out of warranty Porsche's are giant red flags.

P.S. 1,3k monthly? For a USED 4S with possible issues to repair? You can get extremely good BMWs for that cost and save $ by the month.

What does your dad say? Are you really going to base a decision on anything anyone says in this thread?

1350 for a 2013 used car payement...hard pass. i cant wait to pay my car off. Im tryna to sleep as much as money as I can before I turn 30. im sure it drives better but its not better than a brand new f8x. save the porche day for when you get older lol. The 4s will lose its allure once your own it. its significantly slower.

In my eyes never buy something used for the same price as your new car; unless you are buying some unique(vantage, rarri etc) or a beater-screamer e60m5.

I can afford many cars and their maintenance; but just not smart savings. enjoy your blessings. in fact I want to get rid of the f8x and get e90 or e60. But damn the f80 is the ultimate balance of holy shit and luxury

You should be wary about the Porsche with it being out of warranty and cost of maintenance. Stick with the F80, it's a great car. Get a Porsche down the road sometime.

Stick with the f80. I realize the Porsche is tempting, but for me the idea of trading a practically new car for a 6 yr. old car doesn’t make sense. Especially since the Porsche is out of warranty. Enjoy what you have.

This.
I say this even though in my experience BMWs have cost me way more in repairs than Porsches I've owned.

dude you need to save your money and not dump half your paycheck into a car. an almost $1400/month payment on a CAR at your age is ridiculous. to each their own though

Don’t do it. Like everyone said, for a car that is significantly older than your current car it’s just not worth it. Especially with a payment like you mention.

Your F80 has more torque. And newer tech.

Although now is the time to get a porsche. You won’t have it when you have kids (in your 30s)

So it’s either now or when you’re 50.

Forget the Porsche for a moment. Why are you paying ~$1,300 a month for an M3?

Very little money down and / or short financing term?

This is ultimately what made me back out. No way I can afford repairs on top of that payment. I was surprised to see only 22K miles so that's what caught my attention in the first place. Too much of a risk for me though knowing I still have full warranty/peace of mind on my f80 for a while

I actually think it would be the best time to get in a car. Why wait until I'm 50+ to enjoy a car? I have a good-paying job and I would rather blow the money a car that will be mine in a few years. Tons of my friends moved out and pay rent at their own place...I'd much rather still live at home and use that rent money for my dream car. That's just me though.

I do wish I could save more but honestly at this point I'm almost a year in and I love the car. No regrets at all, see my comment above.

I drive wayyyy to much. Just my work commute is 100mi RT every day. I did join a vanpool to not put so much miles in but regardless dont want to lease again, my last car was a lease.

70K financed at 4.15 via BMWFS for 60mo. Paid taxes up front so I couldn't put as much down as I wanted originally.

What's up Tom! Looks like I'm gonna be waiting until I'm 50 lol. On the bright side now I can hit you up soon!! I have the CF steering wheel trim and front reflectors I was gonna ask you to install for me. Might get a dashcam so might need help hardwiring too.
