HI, My NBTEvo_E (id4) currently on i-step F020-16-03-503 has following software loaded.
Is it worth coding the HMI_ID_VERSION to id6_lite to get some newer design of the GUI? Or something will stop working (navigation etc)?

On your current software it is not possible to code iDrive 6.
Upgrade is required.

Thanks

Yes, possible. Depending on software is either done through USB STICK or ENET.

Note that software could be always updated to support Fullscreen.
Any lower letter of NBTEvo_X than on the list is not supported on current software and has to be updated.
The list below could be helpful for everyone.

USB:
NBTEvo_H Splitscreen
NBTEvo_I Splitscreen
NBTEvo_J Splitscreen
NBTEvo_K Splitscreen
NBTEvo_L Splitscreen
NBTEvo_M Splitscreen
NBTEvo_N Fullscreen
NBTEvo_O Fullscreen

ENET:
NBTEvo_P Fullscreen
NBTEvo_Q Fullscreen
NBTEvo_R Fullscreen
NBTEvo_S Fullscreen
NBTEvo_U Fullscreen
NBTEvo_V Fullscreen

Thanks

Sure, email or PM.
Email: oempackbmw@gmail.com
Doesn’t really matter which one you choose if it’s supported.

Thanks

Hi, finally I've managed to update my NBTEVO id4 to the latest i-step level. Is it possible to switch now id6 lite "On" via coding ? The coding option is there (FDL) but not sure if the sowftware below will actually reflect any change after coding to id6 lite (it is now set to id4 plus plus)

Hello,
not possible. You would need to update it to iDrive 5/6 software.

Thanks

Kuba, thank you. I will try flash myself when I have time and charger available again. Then I will use your services (if you will be available) for the apple car play try out.

It all depends on current software version.
You may need WiFi antenna but i don’t know your set up (could be determined by VIN).

Thanks

Quick ?

Currently have a 17' M3 with NBT EVO version J. Want to update it to have full screen CarPlay.

Plan to update iStep on my own with 4.25.12 PSDZ files. The main question is, will split screen CarPlay work right after the update?

This is delayed but I want to thank Kubax for successfully coding in CarPlay to my '18 X3. Very helpful and easy process. So easy a caveman could do it.
