I-STEP update question

I successfully updated I-STEP from F20-16-11-502 to 2020-07-540 on FEM_GW and HU_NBT

Did it so that I could update from version "J" and get full screen CarPlay.

All went smoothly.

Was thinking about updating the DSC and EPS modules also but notice that DME update is required also. I didn't want to update DME as the car is on BM3 and didn't want to risk locking that out.

Is it possible to do the DSC and EPS modules by themselves even though DME is a prerequisite?

You should update only HU_NBT2.
Updating FEM and keeping other modules on lower ISTEP may couse faults.

Gotcha. Thanks for the reply.

The question really has to do with nesting to update DSC/EPS, etc. I noticed that my brothers 19’ M4 has a WAY more lenient MDM mode than the 17’ M3 even with the modules coded to euro MDM and GTS and wondered if it’s the versions of the software causing the difference
