Clicking Noise
Hey gents,
New here and new to the BMW world. Recently traded my Supra for a 18 M4 Comp. I am running BM3 stage 1 tune. I brought it to the dealership a few weeks ago to have them look over everything and told them about this noise. They stated everything was fine but it sounds terrible IMO. I know this isn’t the HPFP or anything of that nature. It seems to do it once it is warmed up and under a load. At higher speeds you cannot really hear it. I thought it might have been a exhaust leak but after putting it in the air I could not find one. It sounds like a card in a bike spoke if that helps. I tried to make a video but you cannot hear it. Any help is greatly appreciated. |

is it manual ? sometimes the ebrake cable gets loose and slaps the driveshaft. its a pretty loud slapping noise and only happens under load.

Yo!
A few questions. - is it wheel speed dependant? or RPM dependant? - Where is it coming from? front, back, midde? - It is only when it is warmed up? That may help us narrow it down. One common issue that comes to mind it a rock stuck between the rotor and the back plate of the rotor. It makes a horrid, metal on metal type sound. Luckily, backing up a ways usually knocks the rock or whatever is in there out. josh |
