Also I can't imagine how you'd get through college with a 2 seater lol but at least you would never be the designated driver?
all good points haha thanks for the insight on vette ownership when young.

so today I pulled the trigger on some summer brixton forged rims for my f83 meaning its staying around for the next few years. I do agree with what some of y'all said about the rear end looking weird and in the end thats kinda what brought me back to keeping the m4. Thanks for the thoughts and jokes about Portland haha!

I got to test drive this z51 3LT (I think) c8 , pretty ugly color but nonetheless these cars are nothing to talk smack about. Yes the rear end is Not the greatest design wise but hey GM convinced themselves they needed to make a trunk big enough for golf clubs.

Someday when these start selling for realistic prices, like less than msrp I would definitely consider buying one.

I went from an M4CS (One of my favorite cars ever) to a C7 Z06 and immediately on a waitlist for the C8 Z06 if that tells you anything. I'll always love the F8X, E9X and E46 cars and community but in terms of performance, it's not even fair. I can see the F8X being superior as a daily driver but I track my cars and the F8X was FAST but needed a lot of improvements.

Also, I don't think a lot of us will argue how horrible the F8X sounds compared to:

Also, I haven't reached my mid-life crisis and anyone that tells you not to get a car because you're too young is the same person that will buy the G8X because it's a BMW even though it's one of the worst/ugliest cars BMW has ever put out after making something like the F8x

In fact….The spec on that particular car is is awesome, that car is a 3LT Z51 and pretty much every option you could get. The interior Quality of materials fit and finish is next level. I can certainly appreciate what Chevy has done the car is amazing and a huge leap forward …unlike the new G 80.

There’s really nothing else out there that sounds like the LT4 … it’s muscle mixed with exotic. I owned a 18 z51 m7 the lt1 captures a little bit of that sound but the lt4 with the supercharger at 5000-7000 rpm is heavenly. the amount of torque they make at any RPM is pretty mind blowing. Such a different driving experience c8 vs c7. Consider yourself lucky if you can own either one.

If you’re buying a car just because that’s what people in your age group buy, well Meh whatever …Nothing wrong with the F8X it’s just a much more conservative ride.

Agreed - the F8X is also a much easier car (conservative) to drive at the limit and has an incredible chassis. The Z06 is terrifying at the limit - definitely can't lose the rear the way you can with the F8X. There's little to no forgiveness.

The Akrapovic helps but the sound is intoxicating at 5k rpm. Almost 600 ft-lbs at 2500 rpm to the wheels is mind blowing. If performance is what you want then it's really hard to argue against a Vette. My dyno sheet below:

Anyone driving a new M will only be seeing the back!!! This Z06 could be wicked! 9000 Redline!! Just the sound will be worth the price. I will be trading my F-82 for one of these or a RS6. Can't wait to start another project

Is it me or does that C8 seem to have a lot of wheel gap?

Yep, the C7 out of factory is as well but Corvettes come with adjustable ride height, camber and caster.

I'm pretty sure theres an option where you can spec adjustable suspension from the factory and then lower it yourself about an inch. on the c8

There is a lift option but I thought that was only for the front end to clear curbs. The rear end in the photo still has a lot of wheel gap.

I prefer the sound of 4.6 4v from ford, in particular I went with a Bassani x pipe and borla stinger CB on my 10th anniversary Termi, best sounding American v8 imo. Absolute muscle mixed with euro exotic, more so than any GM offering. Preference for sure, but unmatched imo.

Yup, Z51 package for the C8.

The C7 had the bolts on each end of the leaf.

I give credit where credit is due, Mustang has been consistently top tier in the engine noise game for a long time. Those SVT Cobras sounded REALLY good but a lot of the "muscle" sound becomes lost or artificial without pushrods - doesn't mean it doesn't sound good or that DOHC are worse but it's the sound is definitely different.

Ever heard a 440 with the 6 pack?

Over on the corvette forum there is a thread were a guy asks " how do I get my C7 to sound more like a mustang" and he was 100% serious.
I swear dead old men were crawling out of there grave to rip on this guy...It was so hilarious to see all the " corvette guys" coming unglued.

A friend of mine has a GT350 its hard to argue with how good they sound. I have a old mustang, I built a 363 (dart block) stroker for drag racing...it sounds ok too
