Engine wheezing when floored
Hi everyone. I'm loving my M4 so far. I've had it nearly two months now. I've got a question. When I floor the car and it hits about 4000 rpms, there is a wheezing sound coming from the engine. The car is plenty warmed up.
Is this normal? It sounds like something is loose, there's a hole in something, etc... Could be the turbos as I have no idea what they are supposed to sound like as this is the first car I've owned with them. Anyone else notice this sound? Normal? Thanks! |

There was a service action that was supposed to be done on all the US cars in order to make sure the boost hose didn't come off - check to see that it was done on your's. Should have been done as part of the new car prep.

Agree with it's either A.) Normal turbo noise which you said you aren't used to which I would describe as a lower pitched whooshing noise. or B.) A boost leak which I would describe as a higher pitched whistling noise.
