Care to educate me on this statement?
I wouldn't be able to direct you to a specific site or link at this time.

However, I remember reading about this on a vehicle design site that explained why most manufacturers in the automotive industry now have similar front end designs - flat & vertical as opposed to angular as per 80s and earlier vehicles. Also the height from the ground to the lowest part of the vehicle impacts crash test ratings for pedestrians.

While what you say is not incorrect, it is completely unrelated to the front wheel gap.

BMW recommended ride heights are in the MPHAS instructions. Varies per wheel diameter.

Aren't the stock springs variable rate as well? (we know their rates).

What about the rears? they look linear.

If a spring has a variable rate, it is impossible to have a single rate number to define it.

Only a linear spring can be defined by a single rate number.

Misleading sure but not impossible to describe a variable rate spring as a single (in this case average) rate.

It wouldn't tell you much. The only way to describe a variable rate spring is by publishing the entire travel vs rate curve.

Agree. Been there done that. Just pointing out that it's not impossible
