As Savaho eluded to in his first post it does indeed look like service tech error could be to blame.

Worth checking if your service history is now on I drive as well.

I have a strange combination of these issues - I have LC active but no Service History in the Service Required tab i.e. just the future requirements are visible.

Its my third m dct car and every time launch control had been active 200 km after the first service
Put the dct in s3 remove dsc brake floor it
If it says launch control actif remove your foot from the gas and you would know without using it
I just reached 2216 km and my launch control is actif

I did it 15 to 30 times on my previous e92's no issues
Still didnt meet the road to try it on my f80
I didn't heard anything about changing the clutch any issue should be covered by warranty

On F8x, launch control is only activated after the 1,200 miles service.

Set DSC full off, fastest shift program, left foot on brake, then, you HAVE to floor it to get the RPM to hold at 3,000. Floor it as in stomp on the gas pedal to the floor as fast as you can. If you did it right, you will see "Launch Control Active" and a checkered flag icon on the instrument cluster.

If you floor it, the car doesn't move, RPM is held at 3K, and you can use the cruise control flipper switch to adjust the launch RPM +- 500 RPM. If you release the brake, it launches.

The problem with this procedure is that you have to go through the beginning range of throttle input before you get to WOT. If you don't just floor it and "gently" press down the throttle, the car lurches but being held by the brakes.

Also, you don't actually have to drive 6 miles in between launches as the user manual says. You just need to drive about a mile to have to able to launch again, if the engine and transmission temp are within the safe range.

first time i've ever had a problem with "flooring it" but apparently that's what i've been doing wrong. I like the setup on the e60 M5 better. much easier

motor trend (Carlos) said they got their best acceleration times by just "stabbing" the throttle ... FYI ... I'm sure I'll still mess with launch control after 1200mi also but good to know you don't have to do all that to get a fast/repeatable time

No doubt it's strenuous to the components, but in reality, the launch control feature does launches way better and cleaner than you could ever hope to, and thus spares your transmission components damage.

How often do you *need* to do launches, anyway? Are you planning on doing quarter mile runs every day?
