Does this work for MY15? Seems like it would if it worked on a 16.

I just coded my rear fogs on my 2018 m3 zcp and when I put those values of 0x20 and 0x21 my outside turn signals stays on so I selected to first options on the list and now the dogs light come on where they are supposed to. Left out put is used 0x1c and right 0x1d.

That is the default setting 0x1c / 0 x1d. The 0x20 / 0x21 are for lci that does not have the fog lights in the original spot for some reason as far as I can uunderstand thus far.

Mine is too. Strange that when i selected the nsl 0x1c /0x1d no lights appear on the rear tail lights where the rear fog is supposed to be. Thats y had to resort to the outer turn signals.

I have done the coding on a '15 M4 with the LCI tails. Got everything working but the Fogs, despite the icon showing up on the dash.

Would this revised code correct that?

I just got around to playing with the coding for the "rear fog lights" and shoved in different values instead of 0x20. What I found

0x1A & 0x1B - use the "inner" / trunk portion of the turn signal. Seems less invasive and a little more 'rear fog lampy'

0x1C & 0x1D - use the actual lights if equipped I suppose

0x1E & 0x1F - these are the reversing lights. Don't use

0x20 & 0x21 - outer bits of the turn signal

0x22 & 0x23 - not sure which does it, but this is for the third brake light, don't use either!

Reverse lights on demand? this is going to come in handy for those tail gaters

Additionally, you can also just pull out the bottom rear fog button instead of taking the whole light switch apart as shown in the video.

I just did this on my ‘18 M3 with BimmerCode. I agree that there is no need to remove the vent or the headlight switch. Just pop the fog button off with the controls still in the car. Pry from underneath and it comes off with almost zero effort. Extremely easy! I used the 0x1C/0x1D values and they worked fine.

Thanks, Shadowkat! I've been trying to achieve this on my 2018 F32 since it was new. The lease just expired and the pig nose G series M4 and M440i won't be out for a while, so I bought the car at lease end and this is a nice little Easter egg.

A quick question, what if using esys, could you let me know how to convert 0x1A & 0x1B into HEX VALUES while in Edit FDL, when I coded in esys, entering 0x1A & 0x1B were invalid.

Just curious, does it light up at night?

My OCD is going through, might be able to source the button itself, but if it doesn't light up I'll source the whole assembly...

EDIT: Some more hours of googling, https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...22&postcount=4
Turns out they are all lit up by default

Hmm, does yours light up? I opened up my Canadian light control unit, and found that there is a LED for top left (front fog light switch) but no LED for bottom left (rear fog light switch)

Well, it didn't, until I saw your post!

When I originally bought the Euro F30 switch that I talked about in post #15 above, my only thought was to swap the rear fog button from the Euro F30 switch to replace the blank in my original switch. Because I wanted to keep everything original, I never even thought about swapping the PC boards!

After looking at your PC board, I went and got the Euro switch that I bought and saw that there were two LEDs on the PC board! So I pulled the switch in my '16 M4 and compared the two boards. They are identical, except that my board has a "042" sticker and the Euro board, apparently from an '18 F30, has a "043" sticker. All the components and traces appear to be identical, which incidentally, appears slightly different than your board. The board from my '16 does have the top LED but not the bottom LED.

I swapped the PC boards, plugged it in to test, and all of the LEDs lit up! Just for good measure, I put a small piece of electrical tape over the top of the rubber light tube to completely block the light from the front fog light LED. Now I have a lighted rear fog light button! I'll do my wife's '18 M3 after she gets home from work tonight.

After I took off the rubber button/light tube piece though, I had a hell of a time getting the four rubber nubs back into the holes on the PC board. It took a needle and a pair of tweezers, and I mangled one in the process. Fortunately, I won't have to take that piece off when I do my wife's M3.
UPDATE: I swapped the board on my wife's M3. The components and traces are not an identical match, but I tried it and it worked, and all lights seem to function correctly. I'll have my wife keep an eye on them to make sure.

I guess that this doesn't really help your situation though. I sourced my F30 Euro switch on eBay. A quick search didn't return any that had both the front and rear fog lights. But since your PC board appears to be different than mine, that may not work anyway. I've attached a photo of the board from my '16 M4 below, but I didn't take off that rubber piece. I can tell you that neither board had a version/mod number in the lower left-hand corner.

For the record, if you change the headlight switch to a different variation from your original (ex: No rear fogs button to one with a fog light button), you also need to specifically code the new switch version to the vehicle or else it'll leaves some "shadow codes" within the CAN BUS network, in which a franchise dealer would be able to recognize.

And here is my feedback on some of the headlight switches with the vacant inner LED:
