Mod Friendly SA in SoCal now that Charlie is gone

Charlie at McKenna is moving on to greener pastures. Any other recommendations for good SoCal SAs? I’m in LA. Thanks.

Powertrain Mods are always a gamable. There is no such a thing as mod friendly SA. When you have a problem then you will realize that you are on your own.
To be honest it’s hard to even find a dealer that would do their job right to begin with. They are nice when you make an appointment but no one cares based on my experience. I have friends that tried different dealers in OC and it’s all the same.
Best of luck for Charlie and his new adventure

McKenna will still be the go-to place. Charlie's team of technicians are still there, it's just a matter of who you want to deal with on the service advisor side

I see from the “random pics” thread that Charlie refers us to Claudia & Israel as the new contact points at McKenna. FYI.

I recommend going to Richard Kim at Crevier bmw. He personally drives an M3 and he's mod friendly. I take my M4 to him for service.

But is he actually mod friendly? I've seen other guys on here go to x dealership. Leave happy, just to find out they've been flagged.

If you're tuned or have visible mods I would get your VIN checked, not only do you need a mod friendly service advisor but also a mod friendly technician (or team of techs) who can spot mods but also take the proactive measure to not report or note the modification to your record.

Some techs will see different springs different intake and boom, you're done. Your service advisor would never know if he isn't on the same page as the tech

He does know my car has been modified so he informs the techs that my car has "x" and "x" etc. Never had an issue . Been 3 years and warranty is still active. As long as you inform him that you have "x" done to your vehicle, you will be fine.

Unless it’s your daddy that owns the dealership, it’s all business. Mod understanding you’re giving up your factory warranty in part or in whole. When money is on the line, people suddenly show a diff face more often than not.

Like the OP stated... I am moving onto to a newer adventure, however my team is still here. Like Justin said, my go-to's will now be Claudia or Israel, Israel is actually close friends with one of my techs on the team and he knows the game plan already. Everyone is still welcomed here, the processes in place are still the same.

Are either of them members here by any chance?

Claudia is definitely not, lol... However her email is "cramirez@mckennacars.com" and Israel is not either, he's probably on all the local Evo forums though.

I figured with Charlie leaving now might be the time for me to find a dealer closer to work/home.

Does anyone have a SA/tech team at South Bay BMW, Santa Monica or Beverly Hills they might recommend?

What is your mod list exactly? Because the only mods that matter are the ones that would prevent a warranty claim from being approved by BMW NA.

Mine are purely cosmetic, but its also that I want to get a recommendation for a good SA in general that others on here have had good experience with. McKenna has always been good about not removing coding, not running the car through a automatic car wash, etc.

Interested in the same. Also want to avoid that gnarly drainage gutter thing at McKenna now that I have a few more clearance limiting cosmetic mods.
