666M vs 513M

hey, i currently own a 2018 F80 comp pack with 666M. If i switch to 513M, how would it handle on the track compare to 666M?

I know i would love it when driving in the city with potholes but on the track, would i loose other characteristics and performance?

thanks!

You will be fine on 666m’s initially, but if you start to progress you will want more grip and the tire selection in 18” is much better.

My $0.02 would be to get wider aftermarket wheels.

+1 on better tire choices for 19s than 18s for the stock wheels

Another +1 for 19's! For whatever reason I don't think 18's look right on the car.

I liked the look of the 18s on my car but didn’t like they could run the 275 front and 305 rear setup, and there were limited options otherwise.

I had to go with re11 instead of Re71r due to lack of sizing choices

my ZCP came w/ 20" 666M wheels, and I was able to swap for a set of 513Ms a few weeks into ownership:

-the car definitely felt lighter on it's feet (based on butt only, no data to corroborate this)
-not a lot of tire selection for this wheel size (i run michelin PSS)
-i took a front off to get patched once, and i was shocked by how light it was---especially compared to the OEM 18" wheels on my E90 and STi

i'm generally happy with them, although I wish i could get a set of RE-71Rs in this size. since i'm intermediate/slow at the track, i'm ok running the PSS---i like the progressive way they let go, and that they start to make noise near the limit.
