Lease Transfer Question

Hi all,

Potentially looking into taking over a lease and the guy has Ultimate Care +, Excess Wear and Tear, as well as Wheel and Tire that add $200 on his payment.

If I assume his lease am I forced to take these on? Not sure if it's in his contracted payment.

I believe you have to assume the lease as it is and cannot make changes. Also, those two add on items are pretty useful. I love not having to pay for a single thing, including the brakes or clutch if anything were to happen to my car.

You should check with BMW if they do indeed transfer over to you and make sure it is written in the agreement you sign.

Ugh, that would be $7,200 additional over the course of a 3 year lease. I don't think that was a good use of the original leasee's moola unless he/she planned on beating the living crap out of the car or simply got tricked by the dealer. I get piece of mind and all, but wow.

Agreed. I'm not sure anyone needs all of those. I'll have to tel him tomorrow it won't work out most likely. Throw in shipping from CA to here. Sigh

The Ultimate+ on my lease was only $600 total. I've bought wheel and tire protection with other leases before, and it never cost that much. At that price I'd definitely skip.

I think the guy needs to throw some money in to make it worth your while. Maybe a lot

the person who paid 7200 for that plan got hosed.

excess wear and tear is stupid, unless you treat your cars like an animal.

Tire & rim is cheap, as in under 3k.
