Is the factory warranty match valid in Canada? How does the process work if dealer won't cover repairs they claim are caused by tune?

Thnx

Thanks, for clearing that up.

84hp over their dyno flywheel number of 466. BMW underrates their motors.

any feedback on the boost question above or even a dyno to see the torque curve? more torque just as quickly accessed will not be a good driving experience

I'm stoked! I was so close to pulling the trigger on a Dinan piggyback, but this is promising substantially more hp for substantially less money...and still with a warrenty!

A dyno chart is all I'm waiting on before pulling the trigger.

We will warranty US and Canadian-spec cars. In a nutshell, if you are denied a warranty repair because the tune is blamed, you will start a claim with us and we will step in. Of course, we will do our due diligence to make sure that the claim is legitimate. But that's the idea

Whether the dealer cares or not almost doesn't matter, as most VINs getting flagged now is done automatically when vehicle data is sent to BMW during a short test. BMW will likely detect anything if they look hard enough, which usually will be with a larger warranty claim.

We are currently in the process of pulling dyno results so that those curious can have a look. We will have this up on each product page on our website by the end of the day.

The reality is that the product itself will differ where it matters:

*Engine calibration/tune files
*Hardware (device) firmware; This is what adds or remove device features.
*Diagnostic function (or lack there-of)

*User interface
*Product support
*Associated hardware or extended powertrain warranties
*.... etc

In fewer words- it is a different product and not a re-brand.

Sorry to Carbahn for jumping in your thread. Just wanted to clear up some confusion.
This is correct information. Thank you for clarifying.

The delivery tool is the same, and the manufacturer of said tool is supplying to a stated 18,000 customers worldwide. However, the end product such as features, the warranty, and most importantly the tune files are unique to each company.

This is a game changer for those worried about crank hub issue. $1000 more for matching factory warranty.

For warranty does the tune need to be installed at approved dealer or can you install yourself?

Hi Everyone,

We have an exciting update regarding the recently released flash tunes from CarBahn AutoWorks. First, the price of our flash tuner tablets has dropped from $250 to $225.

Next, we are now offering an option to buy software with or without a warranty. The price breakdown for the tune without the warranty is as follows:

• F8X M3/M4 - $750.00 for the software + $225.00 for the tablet (vs. $1500 and $1750 with warranty)
• F Series M5/M6 incl. comp pkg cars - $1000.00 for the software + $225.00 for the tablet (vs. $2000 and $2250 with warranty)

Finally, we are offering an across the board discount of 20% on all Stage 1 software (software only, tuner price will still be $225) for the month of October. The discount applies whether you are buying the software with or without the warranty or with or without the flash tuner tablet.

We appreciate all of the questions so far. Look forward to hearing your feedback.

For first time buyers, purchasing the tablet with the software will allow you to install on your own. You can also send us your DME and we can flash it and send it back to you.
The warranty is just one of the layers of protection we provide. Our software is designed with all OEM safety parameters fully untouched and in place, to ensure that the engine is not put in harm's way in the pursuit of more power.

Do you know for a fact that the safety parameters are removed by other tuners on the market?

Does the 20% automatically get applied at checkout?

The ones that we have seen with our own eyes have had reduced safety parameters, not completely eliminated. Of course we will not point anyone out by name but it seems to be not uncommon.

Our website has been updated to reflect the discount already. Once you select the product option (with or without tablet), it will show both the pre and post discount prices.

Will there be other maps like CS or gts type maps for free? Or even gts TCU tune?
491 rwhp 500 rwtq seems impressive for a stage 1.
If I order the software only how is the tune file sent or downloaded?

This is awesome! The fact that you are so confident in your tune that you match the manufacturers warranty is incredible!!

As of now, for Stage 1 we have one variant to offer. The upside is that the power levels are already those of the GTS. We are developing optional features such as startup roar and overrun, and those will be available separately in the future.

We've run in to some small technical issues getting the plots pulled, but expect to still have them up soon.

Regarding the warranty, is the vin registered in your database at the time of flashing or are you notified at the time of a warranty claim?
