Daytona Violet Metallic F80 M3

Spotted this car today at Bimmerfest in the EAS section. I've never really been into purple cars, but I'm absolutely amazed at how nice this looked in person. Unfortunately it was cloudy and the flake didn't pop in the overcast skies, but I'm sure it would look even better in the sunlight:

I'm an enthusiast first if you didn't know already. Yesterday that was made clear when the world's first Daytona Violet F80 was introduced.

When I started with BMW in 1999, the dealership had a '97 e36 M3 Sedan in Daytona Violet with Dove Grey leather vader seats.

I would take it to lunch until the day it sold. I could not believe a car could handle that well! And it wore a bad ass purple suit.The F80 is a tribute to that first e36 M3 that blew my mind at first sight.

Back in '99, I like many of you expressed yesterday, didn't even know a bold color like that existed on a BMW. Shortly afterwards the dealership received the first brochures for the upcoming e46 M3 which showcased the Phoenix Yellow M3 Coupe and the Laguna Seca Convertible. The desire and passion for a bold M Series BMW of my own was ingrained in me then.

So it took a little while. I took delivery of my Fire Orange M3 Sedan in 2011, but I always thought about the DV e36 M3 that started my passion for BMW M. It was so hard not to track it every day, but finally it arrived.

The very next morning I was at EAS. Tom was so gracious getting the M3 scheduled for springs and spacers. As you can imagine he and his team were extremely busy preparing for Bimmerfest. I can't thank EAS enough for making the M3 show ready and being a top-notch in every regard.

I will post more pics lated as the day was overcast. The event wiped me out lol, but I will update this thread later this evening, install the painted reflectors iND shipped me in record time (thanks Cat and Jesal!) and as I head back down to EAS for some upgrades to the DV M3. Enjoy!

Oh wow. Didn't think BMW would paint them in this color. One of my all time favorite colors! Easily one if my favorite f80s

Good question! I was told that it was ordered by David over at Steve Thomas, but I wasn't able to track him down and ask what his plans are for the car.

I went over to see you guys, but you guys were on your way out. Both cars look fantastic, liked the color on David's car.

^I honestly first thought this color was TV, but it's actually a lot lighter than TV. BMWDavid congrats on the new whip! She looks sickk!

It looks unique. Looking at the window sticker, not sure the individual color is worth $5K, meaning for me. Would rather get 19 inch wheels, DCT, and executive package for the price. I assume by the posts in this thread, that the guy is going to heavily mod it and go aftermarket on a bunch of stuff. Hence no 19 inch wheels, etc.

I had a feeling that he would order another Individual color after his FO E90 which also looked amazing! Btw, did that beauty ever get sold?

Looks good.. I like the drop and spacers. It's exactly how mine would be spec'd too looking at the window sticker.

David plans on putting together a thread here soon and posting up some pics etc.. David has some history with Daytona hence why he got it. Be looking for a post soon from David! As far as not being able to get techno or any other color. I would not say you can't get any color to be honest. David seems to be able to pull off some miracles in the past. Daytona was shut down for years and David was able to get the color done. Might be worth a shot to hit him up for your indiv orders

I had a 5+ hour drive bud I had to head out. I left at 3am got home at 730pm. Fontana is WAY TO FAR not sure if ill make the trek next year if its there again.

No, this is Daytona Violet. Two different colors

I disagree. Just add the M-Perf splitters and lip, along with black front and side grills and it would be perfect.
