CarPlay working w/ Bimmercode

I have a 2016 M3 that has aftermarket CarPlay installed. According to Bimmercode manual it states the app will not work with CarPlay devices installed. Does this mean the headunit needs to be pulled and returned to oem with all cables removed from CarPlay or is there another work around?

I did a search and all threads are related to activating CarPlay with Bimmercode.

It should still work. I have a Carplay MMI installed and I have been able to use Bimmercode with an ethernet cable + lightning adapter. If you're using bluetooth to connect to the car that's probably where you'll have some issues since Carplay will want to connect as well.

I suggest selling the 2016 and buying a g80, you should have no problems with carplay or coding then
