If you have cats in place yes, the only reason BMW does this is to Pre heat cat's Quickly as this is when the most efficient when they hot
it does this with the the aid of opening the wastgates when you start it.

No offence but mind me ask where did you find those info about the cold start procedure?

I did some research on why it is in place but didn't find much info tho.

I thought the cold start was to warm the engine and it's better for the car but since I saw so many ppl wanted to delete it I had a doubt.

Are're you talking about the one under Diagnostics? If I remember correctly, someone said Active Sound and Exhaust Valve controls are only temp, they only last 2-3 mins once you active it, then reverse back to default. that's why they're under Diagnostics

I believe the exhaustvalve control is temporary, only for 10mins IIRC, but the Active Sound I haven't heard that it's temporary but I could be wrong.

Even though, Active Sound isn't controled by the DME, it's controled by another ECU called ASD. You can deactivate it with coding.

I'm been using BMS CAN FLAP just to keep active sound disabled and control valves. I order WIFI agent as well, CAN FLAP has to make room for the agent

Well, you will never need the agent connected all the time except when flashing, logging etc. So you can still keep your can flap.

Cold starts are there to Heat up the cats ~ due to Emission requirements.

Most efficient when they reach the operating temperature.

Cold start option(s) would be nice.

Always, Never, 25%, 50%, 125% of factory length. If I go with no-cats, I would still want a cold start but with a shorter duration.

Given that the cold start is literally to warm up the cats, if you have no cats, then there is literally no reason for a cold start. See other thread for details.

Transmission fluid, engine oil, and coolant all need to be quickly warmed up. Cats are not the sole reason; regardless of how many "see other threads".

Engines prior to catalytic convertors had various high idle / cold start methods. Way before chat board and threads.

And cold start does none of that. Feel free to keep being wrong, though.

The only way to get everything up to temp is drive the car bro.
your cold start sitting idling is doing Squat to warm up the DCT/Manual Box and water temp.
