How loud is it?

I've watched tons of videos on Youtube of F8x's with catless downpipes + single mid-pipe, but you can never really get a good 'real live' impression on a video.

I have catless DPs, but the rest of the exhaust is stock. I'm thinking about getting a single mid-pipe, but concerned about daily driving sound/drone. Obviously, with flaps open, it's going to be louder, but how is it in efficient mode?

Can you please share your thoughts about the sound/drone/etc with having catless downpipes + single midpipe (AA or VRSF)?

Thanks!

My friend has this setup on a CS and it's definitely dailyable. The car sounds nice with the valves open and you can definitely hear some turbo spool. As it turns out, it wasn't loud enough for him so we unplugged the valves which keeps it open even in efficient mode.

For me, I am keeping my downpipes on because I don't like the catless smell as it gives me a headache...

Any drone inside the car, especially on the freeway? Want to know because my car is practically silent with the flaps closed during normal driving.

With a single mid you're gonna hear some more under the floor. There's no way to avoid it because the 2-into-1 increases volume by lowering tone. Any time you change size or to a split/merge you're gonna pick up sound. I like the deep sound and don't think it drones, it's just louder.

ARM catless res DP's, AA single, Remus muffler. Very nice bark when you're on it, modest at partial throttle, quieter than stock valves closed. Completely livable imo.

I have catless dp and a single-mid and it's honestly still really quiet with the valves closed through the stock non-ZCP muffler. With the valves open it's a different story entirely.

No drone in either scenario but it's loud with the valves open. For example: this is 2nd gear crawling through my partners neighborhood

edit: for science - this setup is stock non-ZCP muffler, VRSF single-mid, VRSF downpipes, Pure Stage 2+

im currently running aa EL resonated midpipe with stock non zcp muffler. the sound isnt much different from stock with the valves closed. its louder with valves open but not obnoxious, more of a growl. i just picked up a set of arm catless resonated dp's. ill update new sound once i install....

I'm running a vrsf catless downpipe, single midpipe, and remus axle back. The car is interesting where inside the cabin it doesn't sound very loud at all and has little to no drone. But from the outside I'm told my car is very loud.

Ordered the MAD mid-pipe today; will let you know if it's too loud and hopefully not smell too bad.

I ordered from Extreme Powerhouse - damn they are fast - ordered this morning and already shipped! Thanks, Mike!

I don't have single mid pipe but my m4 is extremely loud when valves open. While m3cs is not as loud as m4.
Both car has akrapovic dp and exhaust. But m4 has modified turbo and intake I don't know if that makes difference.

Let us know how loud is your car as I am thinking swap to single mid too

Okay so got the MAD midpipe installed today. Here are some initial comments since I haven't had a chance to really push on the car yet. Just drove it back from the shop and a bit around town.

Got the MAD midpipe for Extreme - fitment is spot-on and no issues. I wish it came with a new gasket, but not a big deal.

1. Hard to say if it added HP, but I also haven't really tried to "test" - will have to report back on that.

2. I have catless DPs - You WILL smell exhaust/fuel fumes on the outside rear of the car, but could also inside if you have the windows open and the wind blows in that direction. IMO it's not that bad, but i also had multiple cars that had no cats. I had a MKIV TT Supra and it was straight piped from the turbo back. Again, it's not that bad, but it's a preference that some people may not want/like. This is to be expected since my car now has no cats at all.

3. In efficient-mode with the exhaust flaps closed, the car is totally daily drivable. No drone that I can tell yet. Just a bit loader than just having catless DPs and the stock midpipe. If this is your concern, really don't worry about it. It's really just a tad louder, but once you get used to it, it's going to be hard to tell.

4. With the exhaust flaps open, it's pretty loud. Unless your racing or maybe on the freeway, you're going to have them closed - it's pretty loud. I actually plan to turn my burbles down because it sounds like a .45 or shotgun when they go off. This point is a slight bummer to me because I liked driving around sometimes with the flaps open, but now I'm going to think twice.

Overall for now I'm pretty content, but i will have to give it a few weeks of driving to really have a better opinion about it. If the smell and volume starts to bother me, I may go to catted DPs and that would likely fix the issues.

I hope my feedback helps.
