Hey everyone,

Looking to put the cats back on the car so if anyone has the stock ones to sell in the UK, let me know.

Cheers.

Thank you mate.

This guy that is selling them agreed with me for £350 already, and now is asking for £500, no doubt once some poor chap drives down to him he will come up with £600-700 because "someone told him".

Well stock cats sell all day for the region of 450 to 550.

Why would he want to sell it cheaper if he knows he can get more.

Prices are very subjective things that we can be arguing all day long but regardless isn't that something he should have thought about before agreeing to a price with a buyer? If someone changes their agreed-upon price based not on other offers but on other opinions! then what guarantee is there that it will not be a wasted trip to collect, if the seller changes the price-agreed on a whim?

For the record, I offered £400 and payment and collection whenever they're ready.

It is a general rule that whenever people mess about, they usually end up losing money in the end.

The scrap people do not pay more than 200 for them and you still have to post and pay the paypal fees of the transaction.

I guess it all depends, do you honour your word and have a quick sale with the original buyer, or do you sacrifice your word for the possibility(not even guarantee) of £100 odd quid?

To me the answer seems quite obvious.

Secondaries alone are worth £400 to a recycler, and probably the same for the primaries, so more than what folk are paying for full systems.

I can see a time, when lots of folk are after the primaries (amd possibly secondaries if MOTs get stricter) and there's none around because so many have been scrapped.

For the record I bought the primary cats(2018) and the secondary ones for £600 total from a breaker.
