damn I love the cloth - so much better for a 'vert too ... I just wish they'd offer it with the leather dash

Does anyone know about stain resistance? Does BMW coat the cloth with a "Scotchgard" like substance or is that something we would want to do after delivery? I don't eat or drink in my cars, but life happens.

Do you know whose car is this? Would like to see more pictures of this combo: AY/cloth.

I got the cloth in my 2008 E90 M3 and then leather in my 2011.
Cloth: Cooler in the summer, warmer in winter... I'm pretty sure I'll do the cloth on my planned F80 M3. Also, I think the take rate makes the cloth more unique, in general.

I initially ordered my M3 with cloth (from practical point of view) but then I saw an M4 with cloth interior in a dealership. It looked cheap IMO especially the cloth inserts in the door panels. So I decided to go with Sakhir Orange extended leather instead. Everyone's taste is difference, of course, but make sure you see cloth interior in person before making your decision.

While doing some research on cloth seats for my future build, I stumbled upon these pics on Motortrend. Hope this helps some of you who are deciding whether or not cloth is for you.

Very flattering shots compared to real life. They are nice seats but they will feel cheap compared to extended leather. If it was Dakota leather for a grand I'd say skip it, but for what you get, extended is a deal.

For me personally, the decision of chosing cloth vs. leather came somewhat easy. 1. The leather seats are not ventilated (I sweat easily, especially with my experiences with leather interiors) 2. When I had my s2000, I hated how the leather seats are either really hot or cold depending on the weather. I would imagine although the quality of the extended leather is far superior than the leather on the s2000s, but the changes in seat temperature should not be different. 3. I plan on tracking this car and from my experience, you slide around in leather way more than you would would with cloth. 4. I do not plan on getting the executive package. So that $950 I would have spent for extended will go towards mods. Hopefully before I put in the order for ED, I will be able to see what cloth looks like in person. Maybe I'll give EAS a visit and check out the cloth in their m4. As long as they don't look that different from the pictures I have seen, I am pretty much set for cloth.
