your car looks very nice! damn the e90 rear looks so much more aggressive! jealous!! btw im thinking if the 3m 60% or 70% is best for me. looking in from outside from sun light, is it reflective that you cant look in from certain angles?

With 40%, there will be some reflection at an angle that will make seeing inside little bit harder. 70% acts very like stock window.

I have 15mm front and 12mm rear.
In stock form, rear tires stick out tiny bit more than front. By adding 15/12 front/rear, it is going to make both front and rear stick out about same amount.

Your car looks awesome! I will definitely tint mine as well when it finally comes in. I've been doing a lot of research on tints and was leaning towards crystalline. Have you had any issues with HUD visibility or halo effects at night with the crystalline windshield tint? There was another poster on here that had it done to the windshield and indicated that if he were to do it again, he wouldn't have done it with Crystalline in the front. Have you had any issues?

So far no problem driving the car during day. Also, there is absolutely no problem with HUD clarity. I have not driven at night with tint yet. I will let you know later when I get more driving time.

I was afraid of getting black colored car because all the horror stories I heard about keeping it clean.
I have been removing dust every morning with duster (takes about 2 minutes) and my car still looks very clean after 1 week of no car washing.

Driving M3 without windows tint was not good experience to my delicate skin.

After shopping around for which tint to get, I decided to get one of the best tints available, 3M Crystalline.

I yelped tint shops around my area and found a shop called Rods Tint Touch.
http://www.yelp.com/biz/rodz-tint-touch-ontario
This shop had very good reviews so I called and made appointment.

I decided to go with 40% (darkest available for Crystalline) for side/rear and 70% for front.
I had to visit Rodz tint twice because the shop does not carry 70% Crystalline. The owner, Jesse, was nice enough to custom order the film for me.

Price was reasonable, too. Jesse charged me $450 for Crystalline 40% all around (except windshield) and $190 for Crystalline 70% on front windshield.

I used to have 30% regular tint on my 335is.
It is pretty easy to see with naked eyes that 40% is lighter than 30%. However, I wanted lighter tint anyway because I have black car.
I didn't want to go with darker tint and grab cop's attention.
By the way, these 40% and 70% Crystalline tint provides better solar energy rejection than darkest regular tint out there.
It is quite comfortable to drive the car during the day.

40% Crystalline has little bit of bluish chrome shade on the tint if you look from certain angle. It adds nice unique touch to the car.
As for 70%, it is so light that you can barely tell.

I haven't gone to long trip to review the tint yet.
I will eventually update this thread with long term review.

By the way, Jesse is a great guy. If you need 3M Crystalline and live around Ontario, CA area, give him a call.

My M3 in Rodz Tint Touch (2nd visit to get front windshield done)

40% 3M Crystalline Side/Rear

70% 3M Crystalline Front

Tint job complete

Car looks great. This is my next set up once I'm done with mine, and back to Steve Thomas again.

Since you are from Arizona (your profile), might as well get good tint!

Does the windshield tint get installed on the outside? It looked like it from you pictures.

Film is initially put outside so that they can cut the film to match windshield shape. After the cut, they peel off protective layer to apply it from inside.

WOW!! Black looks great on the F80 with the tint and I'm not a fan of black cars. The spacers and tint make the car look a lot more aggressive!!

Yup, definitely. Only problem with black car is rock chips. Not just front bumper, but I am seeing some on rear fenders too. Things were less noticeable on my previous alpine white cars.

Yes, EAS captured flyby for me on their camera. Video should be available tomorrow.

Sounds great, even better for the cost and being able to keep it *stock*. No CELs I'd guess?
