Current consensus on upgraded turbos?

It's been a hot minute since I was active on these forums. I've been enjoying my lightly modded F80 since new and I'm now close to 50k miles. (Not my daily driver) I decided that I want to jump to a stage 2 tune and that the crank hub was definitely something I wanted done for the peace of mind.

While chatting with the shop I asked about the life of the stock turbos. Not only in stock form but also after deciding to run a stage 2 tune. My labor costs would be almost half off to have the turbos upgraded at the same time as the crank hub. So that got me thinking about the current state of upgraded turbos for this car.

What is the current consensus on upgraded turbo companies?

Pures are probably the most used turbo on this forum.

Anyone who works with turbos, using those turbos I don't think you will need to rebuild, they are very solid units manufactured with top quality parts

What a coincidence that those who previously had pureturbo now use another brand saying that they will never go back to Pure.
