I've been the last 2 years and at $250 it was a great value. But $495 for a half day... I took a pass. If you've never done it, and especially if you've never driven on a track, then it's a great experience and I highly recommend it. BMW puts on a first class event all the way.

Also they will offer you 20% off M School at the end of the event, although you have to sign up and pay on the spot (which I did 2 years ago: 2 day M School - $800 off!, also an amazing experience).

Have fun those that go! Seriously it's super fun and a bit educational. I can only guess the price will go up again next year.

For those who attend - please report back if the $495 event is any different or better than the $250 event from the previous 2 years at COTA.

Full day sold out almost everywhere already. Disappointed it's not coming to Florida anymore

Same event. But the cars are better. You get to drive the M850i, the X3M, X4M and M4 in the drag races. M2 Comp again in the Autocross. On track, it's the M4 Comp and the M5 Comp. Having owned an M4, now an M550i, I liked getting to drive the M5. The M4 continues as a raw beast, but the M5 is a totally refined and polished bigger beast, very easy to drive, a monster in the corners and down the stretch. Loved it!. Probably more than I need as my DD, so I made the right choice with the M550i, but a real pleasure to drive on track. It is larger, but does not feel larger, and is definitely quicker. Well worth the price, IMO.

Thanks for the great info! M5 on track! If I would have been paying attention that might have swayed me to attend. Sounds like you enjoyed it! Glad it was a good time.
