2015 M4 vs 2015 Viper GTS

So me and my cousin are going at it and he thinks he can whoop me in my M4 and looking at 1/4 mile times we are in the same ball park 11.7 and he is 11.65

I’m stock with K&N intakes no comp pack MPE Exhaust. So we are about dead even we are wanting to bet a couple thousand on races but what is something i can do to make it a lot faster tunes etc? Without going with downpipes I’ll run high octane if needed but I don’t want upgraded downpipes. Is there a stage 1 tune or something that I can go with to beat him? I want to go to it’s max power without replacing downpipes. We will run 1/8 and 1/4 mile.

BM3 or BPM stage 1 tunes will help. Stage 2 will require hardware changes

If you tune with bootmod 3 you will gain ALLOT more power. even the OTS tune. get, use it. love it.

If he can drive I don't think you have a shot. Most of the times for m4s running 11.6 to 11.7 have a tune and a sticky tire. And they trap like 123-124

Viper traps 128 all day with an 11.4. with huge rubber from the factory.

I’ve ran 11.7 @123 on new tires 255 275 pilot 4s tires no tune stock with k&n air filters
If I push tune I should beat him right? If I’ve ran 11.7 a tune should boost me over

best I've seen from an otherwise stock car with a tune is like 11.5 ~126mph.. with race gas. If you get a great launch you might be able to hold him off until the end.

you have DCT though which will give you a perfect shift every time. he has more of a chance to mess things up being a manual.

What do you think about a 1/8 of a mile you think I would have more of a shot?

If you add torque and keep those same tires you might not see a benefit (traction limited).

If you are betting with lots of $$ on the line, switch out to 305 wide drag radials in the rear and do one of those straight e85 tunes with supporting mods. There are posts showing 135mph traps with that setup.

I think you’d want to trap 135+ to give yourself buffer against a bad launch

Probably 3k max a race. More like 1k a race. I was thinking the same because I can barely get traction to control this car on this level of hp. But if I go bootmod3 I’ll run a tune that lowers psi per gear so I can get a good start I think those tires would be a great investment. I just don’t know about for 1 or 2 nights.

Maybe go with some nt01 or other track day r comp tires.

at least you can use them for something else later

Not really my business but do you know your friend well enough to be cool betting for cash? Cash can make friends weird. If there’s a risk maybe you can do something else like “loser buys tires”. Similar $ value but kind of feels more “friendly”. Eh. Just my $0.02

Yes it’s my cousin we have a friendly rivalry going we act all tuff till we see who wins lol. I am going to be tracking the car next month. So that might work
