Drive an M4 100km daily?
Hi Folks! Im new here and ive got a question thats stuck in my head for a couple weeks. Right now i own a 325i prefacelift version and i got a new job thats ca. 55km away from me. Wich means im going to drive daily ca +110km.
And in one week it will be 550-600km. The new job pays me really well and im planning to get a M4. Its kinda my dreamcar and i always wanted one. Right now i have the chance to buy one. Now my question is how are the daily +110km going to abuse the car? Is the M4 able to do this daily without getting any serious problems. Do u have any tips? Best regards! |

Yes car will be fine. The real question is do you want to do that given comfort, gas consumption, and depreciation will all suck.

I commute from Geneva to Lausanne 3 times a week. (~450km)
I don't regret having this car for the commute one bit. I love hearing the roar in the morning. I love accelerating onto the highway. Sometimes I stop mid way, just so that I can do a 0-130kph It's an awesome commute car.

I drive 40 miles a day commuting plus use it all weekend. No issues here whatsoever. Why would anyone want to own a fun car like an M3/4 and drive it sparingly? Life is short - enjoy it!

This. Car will be fine but be aware of the points and make sure they align with your expectations and priorities, primarily with respect to comfort, noise and depreciation.

My commute is 97 miles round trip. I work on average 15 days/month. No problems, regrets or comfort issues.

If possible then I would keep the 325i and get the M4 as a weekend car. Another question would be whether those miles are mostly highway because like others mentioned this car gets about 300 miles to the tank. That’s about 2 fill ups per week for your commute.
If you can’t keep the 325i then get a fun cheap daily commuter car as well. Can’t really have much fun in the M4 in traffic anyways. Don’t even get me started on how much brake dust the M4 gets too just on one trip! Lol |

50 miles round trip to the golf club, 3-5 times a week. Love the commute in this car, which can be any number of different vehicles, depending on my mood, which settings I choose, and traffic. My golf clubs, however, are tired of being bounced from the trunk to the back seat, depending on whether the top is up or down.

These cars are designed as jack of trades. Great daily drivers, great for spirited driving and some thrashing around the track.
Firm suspension can be a problem so the adaptive suspension helps. Lastly, it will depreciate and more than the average car. I do not know how much you can save on the depreciation by saving on the mileage. If this is your dream car, buy it drive it and enjoy every moment of it. It is little things like this that add brightness to the day. Good luck

I think you should go for it OP. Or if you keep the 325 to commute in, don't get m4 for weekend car. Get a 2 seats pure sports car |

Agree 100% - unless my third car was a Huracan (or similar) I wouldn't have it any other way (even more so now with MPE)
