I'm going to test the waters and depending on how much hassle I encounter base my decision from there.

It was about $95 (including fees, etc.). So basically, max of $400 per year if you are hit with another right after you pay the last one.
I typically get hit once per year, maybe once every other.

I live in MD, but drive in NOVA quite a bit. Haven't been pulled over, but with this posting, I'm expecting it any day now. From what I understand it's just a fine, no points, no requirement to 'fix it'?

Almost forgot, it does activate the parking siren, tried adjusting the plate, no dice. Is there anyway around this? Can just the front right side sensor be coded off?

I think that for any state that requires front plates the best solution is the show n go retractable plate. I have it installed and you can barely tell it's there unless you look closely. Then with the push of a button it comes right out. Holes are drilled under so you can't see them at all.

LOL It's supposed to be a video but I couldn't figure out how to upload it : but check out @oneightynyc on IG they have a couple videos of f80s that show how it looks. 100% recommend sho n go. There's a fob that comes with it with 2 buttons to retract and pull out the plate. Update: edited the pics above for better representation |

Looks great for avoiding parking tickets for a no front plate infraction but on a drive by an officer is going to see no plate, take off after you, and see the front plate lowered once pulled over? It’s not going to save you from a ticket is my guess. But I do like the tuck & hide look way better than drilling holes in the front of the bumper and having a permanent display.

A boy can dream though..... "what no front plate? I think you need to have your eyes check kemohsabe." What did you pay it? Did you have to cut your grill to make it fit? Seems like not enough room for the front plate to tuck underneath there. |

I got the mechanical one with the fob. I purchased straight from the body shop and they charged me $300 for it with installation. I believe the plate/hardware itself is around $150 you can google it and see where to buy it. I purchased/installed mine at oneighty in Brooklyn, NY No cutting into the grill just screws on the top part of the inside of the bumper |

Had dinner in Georgetown tonight and parked on K Street underneath the Whitehurst Freeway. Got a $50 ticket for no front plate. This happened a couple of years ago with my M4 while I was parked on the street and attending a hockey game.
Never had a ticket in Virginia. My sense is Virginia LEOs either don't care or just aren't looking for this, but DC loves every revenue generating opportunity. |

So far I had good luck. I also keep the plate in the front seat and the tow hook mount in the trunk.

I have the US Millworks one for the front tow hook, and was able to adjust it so that it does not affect the sensors, it really was the slightest adjustment that ended up working, so maybe if you adjust the way it's mounted to the plate holder it will work??
