I believe a harness will still be needed. I have pre lci leds and I compared the plug on my headlights with the aftermarket icons and they have different pin outs. I reached out Marius and he is able to make a jumper harness, you will need coding because the adaptive option is not available in the aftermarket lights.

If you are pre LCI you don’t need the harness. Just coding.

It doesn’t bro, all of us who have it. Not one of us have that function working because the light just doesn’t have the function or motor built in the headlight to operate

hey folks if anyone is interested in a set of this, i've a set avaliable for sale. It's brand new with warranty. DM me for details. I am from the f32 forum and happen to come across this thread. I was the guy who contacted Marius initially and worked with him to figure out how to make this work on a car that came with Adaptive headlights It took us a very long time and numerous remote coding session. He's a great guy, he never give up when i wanted to give up lol

The seller says.. not your seller its other ALI seller """

Pull the FEM module [A173*3B-50] to [Left headlight No. 5]
The No. 5 pin on the original plug is withdrawn, wrap it up and insulate it well

Pull the FEM module [A173*2B-26] to [Left headlight No. 6]

Pull the FEM module [No. A173*3B-38] to [No. 5 headlight on the right]
The No. 5 pin on the original plug is withdrawn, wrap it up and insulate it well

Pull the FEM module [A173*3B-34] to [right headlight No. 6]

M4 has self-adaptive function, the installation is very complicated, and it needs a basic auto mechanic to understand

Does this mechanic understand?

It was my first time doing this and it’s not that difficult afterall.

Marius on eBay has a listing selling all the required pin and wires and he will walk you through the necessary process

You don’t need any real skills, just need to be semi handy to remove panels, headlights and stuff off the car

I don't know who told you this, but it is a false statement.

Pre LCI LEDs require different wiring as well. Chinese IKONs will only work as PnP if the car had non adaptive xenons from the factory.

All US cars had ONLY ADAPTIVE xenons.

European cars (LHD and RHD) and Canadian cars had both types of xenons - adaptive and non adaptive xenons.

I highly doubt adaptive function works at the aftermarket IKONs since wiring is based on non adaptive xenons.

Marius who has been selling the harness and doing the coding on these told me. If you have xenon adaptive you need the harness. Pre LCI you can plug in and have it coded. He’s done it on a couple of cars already so contact him, if you wanna be sure. Mine required a harness

I think you might be mixing up two things - if the car has from the factory GENUINE (2015-2017) pre LCI LEDs you don't have to modify wiring if you are installing GENUINE 2018+ LEDs (both non adaptive and adaptive).

But if you are planing to install Chinese "LEDs" at any US spec car (either that has adaptive xenons or genuine pre LCI adaptive LEDs or LCI non-adaptive LEDs or LCI adaptive LEDs) you HAVE TO modify the wiring.

I spoke with him as well and that what he told me and it makes sense.

I’m just telling you what he told me over the phone. Either way the lights will work without the adaptive function whether you need or don’t need the harness.

The video in that ad is funny. They're using oem headlights in the video but the photos of the actual headlights are different. The lights in the video have the DRL module on the top of the headlight. The aftermarket ones do not, they're built in. Very misleading, on purpose

Actually never seen oem ones lit up. On a scale from 1-10 these would be an 8.5. My best guesstimate

100 percent these are not adaptive. All I can say is that I’m very happy with them.

Anyone know if these lights have the "soft on/off" capability where the lights fade on/off when locking/unlocking? Just curious. I just installed the aftermarket LCI tail lights (DEPO) on my F36 and was surprised to find out those have the soft on/off capability. I'm assuming it's just a matter of them being LED, but wondering if these headlights can do the same and if anyone has tried coding that feature.
