Renewing Ceramic Coating

How often do you guys renew/reapply your coatings? I had my car done back in January and I'm just curious how long I should wait before having it done again.

With my previous vehicle I used IGL Kenzo and had my detailer maintenance it once a year. Not certain on other brands and coatings though

You should be good to go for at least 24 months without needing the Ceramic looked over - obviously pending on which brand you used and the general care you give to your car.

I had mine done a few weeks back. Only use washing products that dont have added polishers in them i.e. Bathe, Essence, Kamikaze... use a product like Kamikaze over coat every few washes as a top coat to protect your ceramic for longevity.

No automated car washes, washing in direct sunlight, no detail sprays unless using over coat, softest sponges you can buy, invest in high quality micro (rag company), and use a quality drying towel (Gyeon silk dryer) - using a leaf blower or like system also aids in keeping the coat in tip top shape.

My ceramic:
Kamikaze ISM 1.0
FYI... anyone who needs to go back within a year to get their ceramic serviced (unless for reasons not directly related to regular maintenance), either bought a crappy/short lasting ceramic, or the installer did a terrible job.

It really depends on the ceramic coating you went with... The manufacturers usually have estimated life. From personal experience, it never last as long as it states but there could be a # of different variables contributing to that...

Keep an eye on how hydrophobic the coating is... You'll notice the difference when the coating has worn out...

Garage List
In September 2020, I applied Avalon King Armor Shield. Initially they listed this as a 5 year product...I see they've adjusted this to a 2 year guarantee (which I'd agree with). After two winters, I could see it was starting to die out in certain areas. I'd say less if you're not garage keeping the unit (as my black Audi would only last a year outside).

Just applied Adams Advanced Graphene - they are listing 9 years, hoping to get 3.
